HerrVonKrapp (4), California, USA does not count Dec 1, 2008 Bottle -- which makes Red Rocket Ale that much more impressive. I can only imagine how good it can be from the tap. Dark, Reddish brown color with a head as thick as Barbasol. I taste coffee, spice, caramel and I smell flowers when I drink this fine brew. Easily my favorite at the moment. A strong, strong effort. fredandboboflo (722), East Setauket, New York, USA Nov 30, 2008 Bottle. Aroma of caramel malt with brown sugar and sweet toffee overtones, as well as a meandering hop spice presence. Flavor the same, predominantly malty but with a strong hop edge nonetheless. Nothing incredibly exciting to be sure, but a really nice beer to be sure as well. LilBeerDoctor (733), East Setauket, New York, USA Nov 29, 2008 Bottle. Pours a dark brown/dark amber with a thick, creamy light tan head. Aroma of sweet caramel malt, light fruits, and apple skins. Flavor is super malty with a bitter hops finish. Almost like a hoppy barleywine. Nice beer, enjoyable. Aquilo (182), California, USA Nov 26, 2008 Dark brown with a medium tan head. Aroma is pretty powerful. Fresh hops and some citrus dominate. Eucalyptus and some spice as well. Flavor is caramel and cream, with lots of hops, citrus and spice as well. Very grassy finish. Nice creamy mouthfeel. There is a lot going on here. I really enjoy this. alexanderj (1428), San Diego, California, USA Nov 21, 2008 Bottle; poured a reddish copper color with a compact off white/tan head. Aroma was nicely balanced; caramel, toffee, citrus, fruit, cocoa all blended well. Probably one of the best aromas for this fairly diverse style. Flavor did not quite live up to expectations, but it wasn’t bad by any means. Earthy, caramel malt predominates with a good amount of grassy/citrus hops in the finish. Not very alcoholic. Hints of sugary sweetness. Enjoyable.
