3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Tap at Fat Headís in N. Olmsted (by Cleveland) - This brew is a collaboration between Bear Republic and Fat Headís. Pours lightly hazy gold with a small white head that laces nicely. The aroma is of citrus hops and rye. The flavor has big hops with citrus and ample rye malt sweetness. Itís medium bodied and very enjoyable.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Growler. Pours like pineapple or peach juice (in terms of color and cloudiness) with a thin white head that laces slightly. Aroma has notes of pine and citrus hops (clash a bit) with a bit of rye. Flavor is similar with a bit of clashing hops and a rye building towards the finish.

3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Not too much aroma, but nice when it hit the mouth. It definitely had some fruit notes to it. Iíve come to really enjoy the rye offerings from Bear Republic.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Sweet dogg, I was the first person ever to tick off this beer. I am so proud of myself. On tap at Rose & Crown.
Ryevalry pours from the tap a slightly hazed golden color with a nice clingy one-finger white head that leaves some lacing.
Aroma is excellent - lots going on. Bear Republic has done some weird Belgian yeast experiments, but this one works. The hops and yeast work together to create a great fruity aroma with tropical fruits as well as herbal and citrus notes. Some sweet malt as well, along with a nice spiciness from the rye.
Flavor is very nice. Pale malt, Belgian yeast, and hops typical of a California IPA work together to create some interesting flavors. Lots of tropical fruits, mango and pineapple especially, as well as fresh, ripe orange and a hint of banana, spicy rye, and a sweet bready malt base.
Fairly clean and crisp on the palate with medium body.
Overall, this is a successful experiment. Itís very drinkable and the 8.2% ABV is well-hidden. Nice one guys, it was an honor for me to be the first to rate this one.
