"just above average for the style. this dark ale is malt forward with a crisp hop bite just at the end. light and refreshing, but not lacking in flavor, if a bit one dimensional."

On tap at Gingerman after we had plowed through all of the Mikkeller single hop series over at Rattle N Hum. Joey or his friend got this one I think, as Andy and I were ambitiously working our way through a pair of whisky flights. Pours a clear ruby brown with a thin white head. Soy and umami, roast and chocolate. Salty, like bad rice milk, soy sauce, sesame. Long chocolate and roast.

Draught from R n H. Dark pour smallish head. Fairly carbonated mouthfeel. Aroma and taste is mostly choc and light malts some coffee. Ok but not my ideal dunkel.

Draft with Kyle at Rattle n Hum. Pours an amber body with lacing. Aroma is light and fruity with some toasted notes as well. Mouthfeel is medium to thin and short with flavors of toast, malt, nut, light fruit, and molasses.

Pours dark brown with reddish highlights and a creamy tan head. The aroma has mild notes of bubblegum and spice, and much stronger notes of chocolate and toasted malts. The flavor is a little odd with a strong fruit punch and bubblegum presence followed by some toasted and chocolate malts. The finish is nicely dry with some toasted/roasted malt and medium bitterness. It has a very full body.
