Released from Foeder Number Two, this spontaneously fermented red ale has a tart apricot aroma, toasty malt and wheat flavors balanced by tart acidity, and a pleasantly malty finish.

On tap at mellow mushroom in Clearwater. Not much smell. Just some tartness. Itís a hazy orange. Canít see through the glass. Decent look. Taste is pretty decent. Not overpowering. You could drink a couple and enjoy yourself. Itís a run of the road sour on draft. Nothing fancy. Itís good.

Draft at EBP. Pours a slightly hazy dark amber with a thin creamy tan head that goes away quickly. Bright tart nose, showing pleasant balsamic and strawberry tang along with a spicy note from the wood. Creamy medium body with lively carb. Nicely balanced acidic tartness playing against fresh woodiness and and some lightly toasted caramel underneath. Long crisp tangy finish. Very enjoyable.

This is the first sour beer Iíve had from bear republic. Itís no surprise that this beer is awesome. So tart and yet itís still a nice balance between dry and moist. Cherry and sour citrus flavors dominate. Very vinous and wine barrel flavor. Slight brett funk. Had at Wob on draft. Had it for my shifty, canít see payin 12 bucks for 6 percent in a 14 ounce tulip.

6oz draft at Bottleworks. Super dark cloudy amber copper color. Aroma is poop cherries. So much musky musty putty cherry. Not Berliner like at all but a vibrant airiness coming through. Flavor has a vibrant tart lemon character that is bogged down by the cherry character. Long acetic but medium length finish. Mix of two competing styles, a berliner being bear hugged by an acetic Flemish Red like sour beer. At times while drinking this I was into it and at times upset by it.

"American wild red ale" on tap at the brewpub in Healdsburg. Deep amber with a decent head but minimal lacing. Aroma. Floral and tart sour ale. F Moderately complex and tart; not significantly bitter. Very fruity with ripe soft fruits. Medium body. Low but adequate carbonation. O: quote nice and recommended, but not up with the Russian River Supplication from earlier today.
