COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Released from Foeder Number Two, this spontaneously fermented red ale has a tart apricot aroma, toasty malt and wheat flavors balanced by tart acidity, and a pleasantly malty finish.

Draft at the brewery. Pours clear gold with a filmy white head. Tart citrus in the nose, lemon, tangerine. Light sweet flavor with decent lemony acidity, some woody dryness. Light bodied with spritzy carbonation. Tart finish, with lightly burning acetic acid, more tangerine, gays. Not bad.

Sample on tap at the brewpub. Lightly hazy gold pour with thin white head. Aroma is vinegar, cider, fruity cherry aromas, not very inviting at all. Taste is very sour, woody, acetic. Palate is light bodied, bone dry, light carbonation. Bleh.

Nose is modest in sourness with a dried cherry and lightly phenolic presence. Fairly clear orange to red with no head. Taste is moderately tart with a touch of vinegar and light in malt. Okay.

Draught at Bear Republic. Almost clear copper liquid with minimal white head. Aroma of lemon, apple skin, wood, light red onion and light vinegar. Taste is very light sweet and medium sour with notes of lemons, apple skin and red berries. Medium bodied with low carbonation. Nice.

Keg at the brewpub, Healdsburg, 04/02/16. Very lightly hazed copper with minimal head work. Nose is tarte strawberry jam, juicy berry tang, no real suggestion of acidity, light balsa. Taste comprises sharp berry, acidic rise, fruit balsams, tangy raspberry, damp straw. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a puckering smack. Decent enough sour rouge.

On tap at Gingerman after Comic Con. Pours a clear orange with a thin white head. Acid, fruit, caramel. Medium-bodied, nice bright acid. Tart, big acid, funky, tangy. Long tart lemon acidity. Big acid, lingering fruit.

Draft pour on tap at FoBAB 2015 at UIC Forum (Chicago, IL). Pours a deeper well hazed copper pour, a darker dulled middle with a bit of penny shine on the edges as we progress. Frothy offwhite bubbly head dies to a decent ringer, mellow lacing overall. Aromas show tartness, cranberry and lactic appeal meet yogurt, oak, grapefruit sourness. Some gentle funk, bready malts and more lactic punchy citric acidity. Initial is punchy, sour and lively. Firm lactic appeal is citric, yogurty and sharp, that metallic twangy comes in a touch with cranberry, a touch of berry and sharper lactic appeal. Subtle oak, firm lactic acidity and some jabs of dark fruit, carmelization. Really fresh and punchy. Tasty stuff.
