Tap at GABF 2013. Poured a clear straw colour with a thin white head. The aroma is big acid sour. The flavour is strong sour with a big malt vinegar palate.

On tap at APEX, PDX. Visually, an impenetrable yellow shade with hardly any head at all. A big, bright lemony aroma jumps out of the glass. Super sour taste with plenty of white grape character. One of the most puckering beers I’ve ever encountered. Extremely tasty and refreshing.

Draft at bottleworks. Pours hazy straw color, very light with minimal white head. Aroma is funky, juicy, vinegar. Inviting. Taste: whoa tart - entire face puckering up front. Vinegar galore. Taste of vomit follows, which quickly and mercifully gives way to sweetened toasted grains. Light body, average carbonation, slick and mouth coating with lasting tart/sweetened Cheerios finish. Overall: I remember liking this one a lot more the last time for some reason. Also, not sure - is that vomit taste part of the typical Berliner Weiss flavor profile? I love sours and all, but vomit taste is pretty much an instant turnoff. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap at Apex in Portland. Yellow pour with slight white ring of retention. Aroma of sweet tarts and oak. Tastes are sharply tart and then more tart. Citrus, sour, wheat and pucker. Very nice. Sort of one dimensional, but that dimension is awesome. 7.8

Draft at Rustico Alexandria. Poured a hazy pale, grey yellow color with a small, wispy white head. Aroma was pickles, sour notes. Flavor had ton of acid notes. Incredibly tart to begin with, was just what I was hoping for to be honest - so yeah, I’ll say this was a win. Rustico also provided some house-made raspberry syrup to cut through some of the sour - just a few drops. Anyway, my review is based on the pre-syrup tasting, though boy - I’ll get this each time sour is on my mind.

Tap at Mohawk Bend. Low haze, weak white foam. Nose is mild pickle, lemon gatorade, diaper, dried pineapple. Taste is heavy lactic, big white wine, extremely salty with some acetic bite. Dry, oaky finish. Loads of lemon. One dimensional. Long, lactic body. Super dry finish.

Tap at the brewpub. Mostly clear light yellow pour. Minimal to no head. Sharply tart, super flavorful. This is terrific!
