GABF, 2012. One of the better Berlinnerís at the festival. Opaque gold color with carbonation. Sour yeast aroma and sour flavor with some wheat. Good.

Fobab #7

Pours a hazy yellow with a small head.

The aroma is white grape and has sort of a locker room kind of funkiness. Pungent, lemony, and very intriguing./inviting.

The flavor is puckeringly sour, my notes say "Hot Damn" so yeah, I was pretty impressed by the initial taste. The beer is lemony and funky in an intriguing kid of way. Plenty of dry white wine character. Just all around easy to drink and awesome.

Entering old notes. Thanks to GatorGuy92 or Jcartamdg for sharing this one. Pours a hazy yellow with a dissipating white head. Nose is tart citrus, lemon, some lactic, and big tartness. Flavor follows nose. Interesting berliner overall. Dry, tart finish.

Had this on tap many times since October and canít get enough of it. Lemon-lime Gatorade color, almost zero head or lace. What does fizz up fades quickly, never to be seen again. Citrus fruits and oak in the nose, both bleed into the taste. Oaky wine barrels shine against the lime-citrus base. Very tart, nearly puckering sourness is unique for the style. And although itís less lactic than most Berliners, thereís considerably more flavor here than in an any non-fruited Berliner Iíve tasted. Quite impressive. Highly acetic, just how I like my sours. Tartare may be too intense for some, but I would happily drink this all day long given the chance. Fantastic execution of the style. PLEASE bottle this!

Draft at Caponeís Black Friday event. My first and best beer of the day. Poured a rather ugly hazy pale straw body with a minimal white head. Aroma was super tart and bordered on being almost a sour. Notes of old lemons, and some wet fermented wheat. Great body on this one with a medium mouthfeel, lighter carbonation and an acidic burn on the end. Flavor is very similar to the aroma with lots of tartness, old lemons and a touch of vinegar. I could of drank this all day.

On tap: The aroma consists of moderate sour lemon with a hint of acetone. Itís a cloudy dull yellow with, minimal white head. The flavor starts with a quick dose of citrus and apricot. The finish has moderate-heavy sour lemon with a touch of acetone. Itís light bodied with mild carbonation. Overall, maybe a little one dimensional, but Iím digging it.

Tap at Stagshead. Pours bright hazy yellow with soapy 2 finger white head. Nose of citrus funk. tastes super sour like those warhead candies. you get plenty of lemon, and floral, and some grass, woody, and yeast. my mouth is salivating thinking of this again, really enjoyed

3 nov 2012, tap. Very pale yellow, clear, no bubbles. Nose is sweet straw, faint saison yeast, and tart yeast. Thin body and fizzy. Very tart, sets teeth on edge, some dry wood. Saison contribution is only nose. Taste is entirely sour. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
