COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
One of the world’s classic sour beer styles, Tartare™ is Bear Republic’s interpretation of Berliner Weisse, the tart, low-alcohol beer style dubbed as "The Champagne of the North." Tartare won a Bronze medal at the 2011 Festival of Wood and Barrel Aged Beer in the Wild Beer/Acidic category. Winner at 2013 Good Food Awards, Adventurous, Barreled, Big, Bawdy, & Belgian Beer Category

Sample on tap at the brewpub. Hazy super pale yellow pour with thin fizzy white head. Aroma is sour, vinegar, ketchup, fruity notes. Taste is grassy, vinegar. Palate is light dry, solid acid burn.

Draught at Bear Republic. Almost clear hay yellow liquid with minimal white head. Aroma of lemon, apple skin, light grain and light vinegar. Taste is dry and light to medium sour with notes of lemon, apple skin, light vinegar and grain. Medium bodied with medium carbonation. Bit vinegary.

Draft at source. Nose is sharp lactic with a bit of fubkiness like brett to it. Pale yellow. Taste is immediately lactic sharp sour with hints of apple juice. Okay

Draught at Stone Liberty Station, San Diego. "Sour Saturday" during SDBW 2015. Cloudy yellow beer with a small head. Bready aroma, salty pickles (first time I use that in a rating) grassy, citrus, some dough.sourish bready flavor, salty pickles, grapes, floral notes, some grapefruit. Quite ok.

Poured from a tap. Part of a sour flight at The Birch. Cloudy lemonade appearance. Sour milk aroma (not in a good way). VERY sour, and not being a fan of the style, I don’t yet appreciate the benefits.

Growler fill from G&G. Pours a hazy light yellow color with a fizzy white head. Aroma is tart, citrus, light funk. Huge sour in the flavor that lingers into the finish. Nice funk. Very tasty.
