Huge thanks to yourefragile for sharing this growler. Served in a cervoise. The nose is fairly tart with a bit of wheat in the background, but mostly sourness and light stone fruits. Flavor is similar. It’s quite tart, and unfortunately doesn’t have much dry wheat character like a great Berliner. Instead, it’s more of an American Wild, though a good one at that.

"NOT quite as expected. This was a wild ale as much as a berliner, but succeeded either way. The Wheat shines through, as does a sopious amount of mouth puckering lemony tartness and funk. Loved every sip."

Sample at Rustico. Hazy yellow color with a thin white head that evaporates quickly to an outer ring. Spotty lacing on the glass. Aroma of tart fruit, oak and mild spices.Light-bodied with flavors of tart citrus and peaches, yeast and oak. The finish is lightly sour with a citrusy aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

No retention and no lacing. Smells of grass, lemon and Sauvignon Blanc. Tastes like sour drop candy, sour lemon and grass. Sour aftertaste. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap @ Downtown Johnny Brown’s: Appeared a neon glowing yellow liquid with no covering of foam except a tiny O-shaped ring. Aroma is mild but is just too faint for me to smell due to all the hot dogs and buffalo wings being served at and around my table as the Aztecs lost to Oklahoma. Some quality yeast was used, though, the flavor is extremely sour and the taste is intense as if I had just took a bite out of a lemon, but the yeast is truly interesting and builds the character of this beer. There is also a semi-sweet taste of sugar as if I’m eating sour patch kids or sour skittles. Okay stuff but I might have enjoyed it more if it was during hot summer days instead of a cool and breezy 3rd day of Spring.

Clean smell with fresh lemon. Flavor is strongly lemon with some green grape and apple moving into subtle, yeasty wheat. Finishes clean. Great berlinerweiss.

Green-gold pour, no head. Bad start. BUT THEN! Tart raspberry/apple/wheat aroma, giant sour flavor of lemon, apple and vingar. Tart, puckering, sharp.

On tap at BRU for PBW. A sour fan’s dream. Perhaps the most sour, tarty beer I have ever sampled. Pours a pale golden color with a slight orange hue. Vinegar on the nose and palate. Not really complex but simply tarty tart. Drinkable even for a someone like me who doesn’t have sours high on their list.
