tgncc (225), Bellmore, New York, USA Jul 5, 2008 Strong malty aroma. Yellow color with tinge of orange, typical to the style. Strong malty flavor, balanced with hops. Not particularly sweet or bitter. Slight hop burn on the palate. Not very interesting, but drinkable.
joshwilfong (509), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 14, 2008 reddish brown with nice white head. not a huge malt component but some crystal. a nice bitterness with some flavor and aroma hops, which include a huge contribution from the cascade. actually a great APA, most APAs dont have a huge malt character and this is no different, that would be the only improvement i can think of, because the hop component is great JohnCoyne (63), USA Aug 13, 2008 Pours a hazy burnt orange in the glass with a medium slightly off white head. Floaters visible. Smells hoppy with a malt backbone. There is almost a nut like aroma. Tastes...watery? Some hop bitterness and a mild malt presence culminate on a bitter note that leaves one wondering where the flavor was. msante79 (218), Illinois, USA Aug 3, 2008 Bomber from WLC Liquors. Pours orange copper with thin white head. Aroma is great with good dose of hops, citrus and malt. Flavor is not a big in hop department but has the nice bitter punch with notes of citrus and sweet malt. Nice refreshing brew but wonder if it was fresh or not as it may have been the dustist bottle in the store. Also as with all Bear Republic brews it gets extra points for low price. AndrewKScott (319), Lemont, Illinois, USA Aug 3, 2008 Orange pour with nice, fluffy head. Has a great hop nose, mild hop flavor and bitter finish. I wouldn’t call this ale exceptional, but it’s aight. csbosox (956), Prairie Village, Kansas, USA Aug 2, 2008 22oz bottle. Citrus, pine, and earthy aroma along with some biscut and caramel. Copper colored with a one fingered head. Flavor is nutty, biscuts, caramel followed by a floral, spicy, and piney finish. A fair amount of bitterness for the style, but still very much an APA. Very easy to drink, a nice pale ale.
