Pours a clear gold with a thin white head. Citrus hop aroma with a touch of pine. Nice bitterness in the flavor, yet not overly so. Very sessionable.

Growler fill of house IPA from Bearden Beer Market: pours a clear amber with a nice white fluffy head and good lacing throughout. Gentle hops aromas of orange and citrus and earthiness, then slight sweet malts. Very subtle flavor with very slight bitter from citrusy hops, some orange and lemon, and some sweet malts. Very understated, mellow but refreshing.

For breakfast at the market. Nice citrus aroma with a hint of bread. Flavor starts with semi sweet malt and then kicked by a nice grapefruit bitter. Medium bodied with nice carbonation. Nice beer.

Draught at the market. Pours a nice golden color with small whitish head. The aroma is grapefruit, pine, herbal hops, and a touch of light toast. The flavor is pleasantly bitter with pine and herbal hops all over the place and a distant bready malt backbone. The finish is citrusy with an ever so slight coppery note. The bitterness lingers well into the aftertaste. Not too shabby.

Draft at the BBM. Lightly hazy, golden-orange with a lasting head. Nose of slight grapefruit and woody hops. Flavor is same, but more of a wooden and nutty bitterness. Light-medium body is watery and easily drinkable.

3 hour old growler. I can’t decide if I’m surprised or not at how similar this is to the Appalachain Pale Ale. If I get a really solid Gatlinburg or Knoxville sample of the pale ale, it’s nearly identical to this "West Coast IPA" of theirs. Yeah, the hops are definitely the centerpiece of this brew, but they aren’t super powerful. Plenty of grapefruit is embedded in the aroma and flavor along with some wooden bitterness. Malts are doughy, semi-sweet and there is some kind of faint sourness buried deep in the palate. I’ve got no problem at all taking down this growler, but It falls short of my expectations. When I heard the hype of the IPA at the BBM, I assumed it was more special than SMBC’s solid pale ale. That is not necessarily the case.

Hazy light orange, whitish cover. Aroma is citrusy hops, caramel. Great dry hopped aroma. The taste is built for me, as good as any of the best Yazoo Hop Projects. Taste is solid maltiness, candy, caramel, but not slick with a nice lingering bitter, citrusy, grapefruit, some mango, exotic fruit tastes. I can see where the ’stoney’ note Suttree mentioned comes in, it kind of adds a heft to the caramel without making it sweeter, slicker, or anything to detract from the hop oils. I think there are certain beers that just fit your tastes, this one really works for me and at 9 bucks for a half gallon, fits my budget.

Really nice session IPA. Definitely bitter, with just a wee bit of caramel sweetness in both the aroma and flavor. Fairly citrusy at first, with some grapefruit and tangerine, and an odd "stoney" note in the background. Malt is definitely in the background, maybe a little bit of toffee and carame. Tasty brew, very enjoyable.
