COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask; Occasional.
The flavours from the malt and hops blend with the added bite from the root ginger to produce a superbly quenching finish.

Cask sampled with Finn. Unclear pale golden. Short lived white head. Diluted ginger in aroma and taste. Wet paper note in mouthfeel. Not my kind of beer (The Glasshouse in Norwich 26.09.2006).

Cask at The Glasshouse (JDW) Norwich 26 Sep 2006. Yellow colour. A tiny soapy head. Spicy aroma. A watery ginger flavour. Some sourish bitterness in the finish.

Disappointingly, not a sniff of ginger. But a crystal, tea-coloured pint with a creamy white head and pungent kick of bitter hops. Rummy alcohol and a hint of banana in the aroma. And a mellow, bready soapiness before the bitterness kicks in. Quality bitter.

Cask Conditioned at The Horse & Groom, Caulcott. Orange amber beer with foamed head. Malty based beer with a sweet caramel flavour laced with a roughish ginger. The ginger, though sharp is at a low enough level to allow some other flavours through, hence a lasting sweetness in the finish. I've never been a great fan of Ginger in beer though.

Oxford Beer Fest, Gravity Fresh. This is one of the specialty beers from this 9 year established brewery who now own 7 pubs and have recently moved into larger premises. This beer has a definite ginger tang, but that vanishes quickly. The beer underneath doesn't strike as of any outstanding quality but could well be Bear Ass. The main interest here is the ginger addition which in itself is not that interesting.
