The flavours from the malt and hops blend with the added bite from the root ginger to produce a superbly quenching finish.

Cask Conditioned at The Horse & Groom, Caulcott. Orange amber beer with foamed head. Malty based beer with a sweet caramel flavour laced with a roughish ginger. The ginger, though sharp is at a low enough level to allow some other flavours through, hence a lasting sweetness in the finish. I've never been a great fan of Ginger in beer though.

Cask at GBBF 2010. A pale golden colour with a good white head. The aroma is all ginger with a hint of honey. The taste is all ginger with and plenty of malt, with a dry finish.

7 wow, massive fresh stem ginger aroma
3 orange, almost no head
7 taste obviously gingery, but plenty of hops too.
4 obviously a ginger tingle.
13 not so big, or clever, but tasty in a gimicky kind of way.

Cask real ale tasted at Gallows Bird RAF 2010. Nose gives ginger. Pale fast disappearing head. Bitter taste with lots of ginger. Slightly roasty. Difficult to find hops behind ginger. At the end bitterness.

On gravity at the Portcullis, Bristol 10/12/09. Deep gold with a slight white head. Aroma of root ginger with a hint of sweet malt. Flavour of intense stem ginger, with a light malty ale underneath. Ok, but one dimensional.

Cask (handpump) at the Forum (JDW), Lincoln, April 2008. Pale gold colour. Nice condition. Quite faint ginger in the aroma but much stronger ginger notes in the flavour. Fairly subtle - more of a golden ale with ginger accents than a full on ginger bomb. Clean, fresh and fairly tasty.
