On cask at Cheshire Ring, Hyde. Pours golden with white head, cloudy at first. Overriding taste is peach syrup, there’s probably a decent golden ale behind it, but the sticky peach is overpowering. Shame, I was looking forward to this.

Gateshead beer fest. I was quite prepared to be curmudgeonly about this, but it succeeds by a judicious balance between sweet fruitiness, and hop sharpness. The novelty works. Refreshing, and easily the best beer I’ve had from this brewery

Light and still this golden summer ale has whipped egg white foam. The aroma is of beautiful bittersweet fresh peaches, they pack a tang. Pulpy peach and a delightful hop bitterness both of which linger long into the finish. Remarkably delicious and drinkable. Lives long past the novelty factor.

JDW Spring Fest 2010, Rochester. Pale soft malt with a touch of sweetness. Fragrant flowery hops. Peach & apricot & cream. very girly! Very pleasant.

16th April 2010. Slightly hazy pale gold beer. Very moderate carbonation. Peachy nose! The peach carries over to the taste. Light semi dry palate, sweet peach and a little bitter orange underneath. Finishes fruity and dry. Unusual and pretty drinkable.

Cask Handpump at the Penny Black JDW, Northwich 16/04/2010 Fruity aroma. Golden coloured hoppy and fruity peach and citrus flavours with a hint of dryness in a crisp and bitter finish.

Cask, Last Plantagenet, Leicester. Hazy dull light gold with a thin head. Aromas are lots of peach syrup with floral notes. Fruity with some hay. Reminds me of Badger Golden Glory. Flavours are sweet and fruity with light toast malts. Hoppy and floral with a dry, slightly peppery finish. OK.

Cask @ Counting House, JDW. Unclear light golden colour, short white head. Aroma is peach. Flavour is sweet peach, elderflower. Quite hoppy as well. Fairly bitter and slightly sweet finish. Bit like a tropical fruit drink.

1) Cask, The Banker’s Draught, Sheffield. Pale gold with a slim collar. Bag of added juice/synthetic peachiness but bizarrely, it works; fine creamy malt balance, good rasp of hop, juicy tangerine mingled with the perfume. Quite a nasty synthetic/air freshener aroma, but overall, I liked it. 2) The Baron, Hinckley. None of the cascade coming over; biscuit malts and lemon jelly engulfed in airfreshener. Struggling with a third. This tastes like a Belgian fruit confection, but my Sheffield rate stands; Cascade competing pleasantly with peachiness, proving hops with a judicious sprinkle of juice can actually work.

Cask-conditioned at the Imperial, Exeter 19/04/10. Hazy yellow in colour with a decent white head. Sweet, nectarine and orange juice aroma. Flavour had lots more peach, some elderflowers in the background and a short, bitter finish. Not unpleasant but, aside from the bitterness, this tasted like fruit juice.
