Bottle at ChrisO’s Pre-GBBF Shindig 2011. Pours clearish brown with a few bubbles. Slight roasted malt aroma, bit of sweat. Earth, peat and light sugar flavor. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Dry, leafy bitter finish with moderate roast. Nice.

Bottled (from Utobeer). Very deep amber colour, close to black, small beige head. Aroma is mild toasted notes, smoked wet wood as well as some slight toffeeish notes. Flavour is wooden, smoked wet wood and mild nuttyness as well.

Cask at Ealing beer festival 2011. A dark brown/black coloured pour with a medium beige head on top. Roasty, caramel aroma. Tastes of caramel, dark fruit, coffee, chocolate, malty. Pleasant.

Bottle, Carringtons, Chorlton. Very dark brown pour with a tan head that diminished to leave a lingering rim. Aroma had a decent amount of roast, with notes of hazelnut, dark chocolate, dark fruits and trace car tyre.
Slid down nice n’smooth. Further chocolate, fruits and roasted malt in evidence flavour wise. Dry bitter finish. A very drinkable and tasty stout. Nice one.

Cask-conditioned at the Edgar Wallace, London 27/01/10. Almost black in colour with a slight, off-white head. Aroma of chocolate and dark fruit. Light mouth feel, with some coffee, more chocolate and a decent bitter finish. Good.

(Cask at Ship & Mitre, Liverpool, 20 July 2009) Dark brown colour with hints of red. Frothy, beige head. Fruity, malty nose with dark fruit, prunes, raisins and chocolate. Malty, fruity taste with notes of prunes, raisins, dark fruit and a slightly bittersweet finish. Medium body, smooth mouthfeel. Nice stout with a touch of dark fruit.

Cask conditioned at the Hop Pole, Aylesbury, Bucks, 02-03-09 Pours dark brown with a slight reddy glint. Really rather tasty beer, ok its a touch thin at times for the abv but there is some chocolate and a nice dryness there which I rather liked. A6 A4 F7 P3 OV14 3.4
