A Mes rate. Cask handpull at the Market Porter.
Clean gold with a good white head and plenty of condition. Big grapefruit hoppy bitterness and some good pale malt. Loads of grassy freshness. Just the right level of casky chalky character and a lovely herbal hint. More citric bitterness in the finish with a faint lemon sourness. Excellent stuff.

Cask at Wellington Arms, Bedford. Copper amber with a small white head. Malt aroma. Pleasantly earthy malt taste, gradually developing sweetness. Mid bitter finish. A pretty ordinary bitter; nothing particularly special, despite the name, but none the worse for that.
