Crosse Keys Spoons. Hazy gold beer. Residual white head. Smooth palate, semi dry. Fairly low carbonation. Sweetish hops. Peach, tangerine, tropical fruits, grapefruit, even a little Sorachi Ace lemon flavour. A really nice medley! Finishes semi dry. Lip smacking hops. With some condition this would have been an easy 4+

On cask at Wetherspoon Stansted. Great beer, tastes like a salad of hops. Aromas of honey, caramel, pine, and orange. Taste is sweet and bitter, with a long lingering finish. Palate is silky, and medium bodied. Cloudy yellow, with a thin head.

Cask conditioned Handpump Moon On The Square Northampton. A golden beer with a white bubbly head. Hints of peach in the aroma which struggles thorugh the cold. Decent citrus fruits in the mouth with a nice body. Good hops. The malts give good backbone. This could be a cracker but it’s just too cold on this occasion.

Have had two of these. One at Thomas Sheraton Stockton which was superb almost Marble Dobber standard. One at Boston Wetherspoons which was less so but still good, hence an average of the two ratings above.

Cask at the Greyhound (JDW), Maidenhead. Golden amber with a thin white head; fruity aroma; rich tropical fruit flavour with some shewy malts; then a long, building, bitterness leaving a sweet digestive biscuit finish. Deceptively easy to drink.

Cask, Lord Keeper of the Great Seal, Oadby. Golden with an off-white foam. Aromas are leafy and resinous with yeast and woody pine. Herbal with crsyallised pear. Flavours are stewed apple with sweet caramel and toffee. Spritzy yeast with lemon and grapefruit. Bready with a dry finish and green apple acidity. Pretty good.
