Pours a hazy, nearly clear orange with a bubbly, two finger, off-white head. Light lacing. Aroma is interesting. Earthy notes with some herbal spices and a slight sweetness. Taste is a pungent bitter with an earthy, grass, herbal aftertaste. Slightly metallic. Medium body and carbonation. Fairly crisp and clean in the mouth with a slight bit of resin. Overall interesting. Herbal and earthy aroma and taste. Easy to drink and wirth a taste. Probably wouldn’t buy again though. Not really my bag baby.

Bottle: pours a pale hazed straw color with a decent sticky white cap. Moderate effervescence. The aroma is the highlight of this brew with the sharp pungent smell of herbs, herbaceous plants and spicey hops over light bready pale malt tones. Flavour is hop/herb forward with the spice-herb-bittering riding just above the biscuity malts….finish goes dry with increasing bittering and a sharp herb-biscuit kiss at the closing. A well designed specialty pale ale where the herbaceous adjuncts compliment the hops chosen…very nice, very drinkable and relatively unique.

600ml bottle with a purty light blue crown cap. Evidently rating # 5900. Slightly hazy dark gold with a large fluffy and lasting off-white head. Dry and slightly acidic floral / citrus zest aroma, some alcohol - good fresh cereal grain lushness. Taste - not bad, follows, but light, more grain, less bitterness, a hint of lemon - decent balance. A little watery, astringent and acidic, mild carbonation, a long low-level dry grassy somewhat earthy bitter finish. Weirdly boozy.

Herbal, floral and a little bit sweet in the nose. Hazy blond body is topped by a decent, white, fine-bubbled head that lasts well. Flavour offers the herbal and floral notes from the aroma but has a deep, almost sour, bark-like, woody undertone with notes of rye and crisp bitterness. Very refreshing medium light body with pleasant effervescence. Yes, please. I’ll have another. Bottle at just above fridge temperature from the LCBO on Danforth at Brimley.

(bottle) clear coppery amber colour with a medium tall tan head; aromas start with fruit, then a whiff of metal, then a strange salty herby aroma; dry flavour with a long medium bitter finish; interesting but not anything I want to return to

600 mL bottle. Pours pale gold with a thick lacy white head. Herbal aromas, a mix of familiar hop notes with some depth from the other additions (really wish I knew what these things tasted like individually), some slightly sweet fruit notes here (I’m assuming that’s the cranberry and maple in action) and a hint of grain. Dry, but somehow leaves the impression of sweetness, with a well bittered finish. Moderate carbonation and light on the palate. Very nice.

Batch number 3312. The ingredients look wild with lots of teas (flowers) and some maple syrup. Still smells like a pale ale. There is also cranberries in here, and they add a nice touch of fruity sweetness to everything. Hazy amber colour with a frothy white head and creamy lacing. Mild soap nose with the hop and oats. A nice dryness for mouthfeel, but still goes down well with some wetness. Hop bitterness with loads of flavours. I am pretty amazed at everything found in here and how well it is blended. A must try !!

UPDATED: MAY 2, 2014 Pours deep yellow with a luscious one finger sea foam cap. Aroma reminds me of the yuppie tea shop in leslieville: floral, herbal, citrus. Taste almost too much at once but after a few samples the favour starts to unfold. Adventurous brew - don’t expect the same-old pale ale.

Pours a clear golden colour, with a thin white head. Aroma notes include lots of flowers, almost pulperie like. The tasting notes are quite noisy, with notes of floral, herbal, grassy, cough medicine. The Cranberries and Maple syrup are lost in this complicated brew though, and I feel like this brew may be attempting to much. Still, not a bad herbal brew.

600 ml bottle from LCBO, served cold in a tulip glass.

App.: Hazy amber with a full white head. Aroma: Lots of citrus and pine, a little dank with some cat pee, bitter green herbs, somewhat sharp and harsh, lavender?, so-so. Palate: Medium body, full yet gentle effervescence. Flav.: Much like the nose...citrus, pine, floral, dank, cat pee, bitter herbs, reminiscent of sage and rosemary, a little malt character; dry with slightly unbalanced bitterness and a finish with slightly more malt presence than the aroma/flavour.

Different...doesn’t quite hit the spot for me.
