UPDATED: NOV 17, 2014 600ml bottle from the LCBO. Hazy gold body with cloudy thick head. Hop aromas are at the forefront, for sure. Herby floral notes. Great lacing, a few flavours I can’t place. Really enjoyed it.

Herbal, floral and a little bit sweet in the nose. Hazy blond body is topped by a decent, white, fine-bubbled head that lasts well. Flavour offers the herbal and floral notes from the aroma but has a deep, almost sour, bark-like, woody undertone with notes of rye and crisp bitterness. Very refreshing medium light body with pleasant effervescence. Yes, please. I’ll have another. Bottle at just above fridge temperature from the LCBO on Danforth at Brimley.

This pours with a fluffy white head on top of a slightly cloudy, medium to dark amber body. It has a very pleasant hoppy aroma that also has fruit and floral aspects. All of the ingredients give it a complex character, but not overly so. It’s a crisp and slightly dry but quite refreshing beer that you can just sit back and enjoy. It’s very easy to drink, feels good to the palate and has a very pleasing finish.

600 ml bottle. Clear deeper orange, firm off-white froth settles and lasts. Pungent herbal floral aroma with some c-malt. Taste is very Gaelic, heather, rose hips, a hint of treacle, pale c-malts, evergreen burps. Average carbonation, light-medium bodied, moderately hopped. Crisp and dry, delightful. From 600 ml bottle in tulip. Slightly hazy orange pour with a beautiful white head. Lots of lacing. Nose is fruity with passion fruit, mango and grapefruit. Fruity sweetness. A hint of herbs. Very complex taste. First some herbal tea notes followed by a heathland flavor. Feels like being up north. All very dry and backed up by a tropical fruit body. Light malt profile. Very pleasing experimental beer.

On tap at Beau’s Oktoberfest 2013, Vankleek Hill. Veiled orange with a resilient white head.Aroma is hoppy, lemon, grapefruit. Flavor is tons upon tons of fruits, citrus, sugar. Finish is very, very citrusy bitterness. Medium body, soft, creamy mouthfeel. Average carbonation. Very tasty, soft, and refreshing.

Pours hazy blonde with long lasting and coarse shaving-lather head. Very complex on the nose, with wildberry notes, ample grapefruit, a wild lactic sourness, and ripe starfruit. Good body on the palate, with balanced carbonation and upfront bitterness. Loads of hops, in a balanced IPA style. Some malt and sweetness to back-up the bitterness. Lots of exotic pine and herbal notes. I was expecting this to taste like alcoholic Ricola, and it kind-of does, but not in the offensive way i imagined it might. Some wild funk, but mostly in the background. Very interesting and drinkable! Very cool.
