UPDATED: JAN 3, 2014 Bottle from LCBO. Pale golden pour with a thin white head. The aroma is awesome - lots of bright spicy/herbal aroma. Sort of gruit-like but with a flinty dryness in addition to a bit of soft fruitiness. There is a little bit of spice and a touch of lean pale malt. It has an almost bretty character even though I don’t think they use any. Earthy bitterness but a lingering freshness. Really damn tasty. Tap at Brydens. Very pale golden pour with a little bit of soft yeast suspension. Nice light fruit and a soft earthiness. Moderate bitterness with a touch of light spice on the finish. Pretty nice, summery beer. Lingering wheatiness flavour. 7 3 7 3 14

600ml bottle from Halles St-Jean. Aroma: citrus, grapefruits, unpleasant earthy background. App: hazy peach color, small white head. Taste and palate: medium body, average to high carbonation, light dry bitter finish. Overall: maybe I was expecting too much. This beer is good but there is something I don’t like in the smell, mouthfeel is what we expect from a pale ale, no clue what a Nordic pale ale is though. Anyway enjoyed it and good appetizer for a next beer.

Nice cloudy golden pour with a white head, dissipated into a ring for me! Very nice. Mildly herbal aroma, some hops, not too strong. Slightly herbal taste, moderate hop bitterness, medium-light bodied with a nice long aftertaste. Yum!

600ml bottle. Clear amber with a frothy white head. Flavors are tropical fruits, bread, citrus, spices and sweet herbs and grass with resinous and floral notes. Light to medium body, moderate carbonation, slick texture. Dry finish, a bit harsh.

Bottle. Pours cloudy blonde/amber with particles in suspension and small white head. Aroma of citrusy hops. Taste of citrus, wheat, herbs... A lot of complexity is poping at is warms. Bitter, a bit sweet and dry finish.

Bottle 600ml. Pours dark blond with medium white head. Some lacing. Aroma is of hops, citrus, fruits, resin. Taste is of bitterness, citrus, fruits, some sugar, malt, grain, resin. Palate: Medium body. Medium carbonation. Overall: I’m going to be honest and say that I missed pretty much all of the "northern-inspired features". Well in a way this is good: they are well integrated in the beer. Nice one.

Bottle (600 ml) bought @ Beaus. Split 2-ways with the brother in law.

Appearance: Hazy golden/orange with a small quickly diminishing white head that leave some lacing.

Aroma: Quite herbal with peppery notes, cereals, floral notes and hints of soap.

Taste: Herbal forward too with fresh cereals, peppery notes, light sweetness, floral/perfumy presence, soapy notes and very light bitterness.

Palate: Light body. Moderate carbonation. Airy, a bit oily and also almost watery mouthfeel. Moderate, but lingering spicy finish.

Overall: Balance and drinkability are ok for a grassy/spicy/floral Pale Ale. The mouthfeel is a bit weak to support those features, but not enough to ruin the beer.

UPDATED: FEB 11, 2015 A filtered amber body, with a finger of white head. Very floral notes tickle the nose. Something akin to mint is in the mix too. Some citrus hops fill the background. The citrus hops completely disappear on the tongue, and it is all floral tastes, and lavender. Reminds me a little too much of Beau’s St. Luke’s Verse Gruit. I’ve come to realize I don’t much care for floral beers. N’uff said.
