Inspired by the Beaver River (rivière Castor), which connects Ottawa to many communities to the East, this IPA is designed to appeal to Hop Heads. Taking the malt and yeast profile of a traditional British style India Pale Ale and adding an American-style citrusy punch, our Beaver River is both assertive and drinkable. Beaver River is brewed with local spring water and the ingredients are 100% certified organic.

Pour is dark gold with a small, creamy off-white cap that lasts FOREVER. This stuff is damn purdy. Nose is floral/piney/earthy hops, with faint citrus and caramel malt. This stuff is damn tasty, nice and lip-smackingly bitter, but it’s a little thin and watery. Still, I’m really digging the hop profile - it’s like a punched up British IPA. Solid.

600ml bottle from the LCBO in Peterborough, Ontario. Orange amber in colour with a thin lasting off-white head, good lacing. The aroma is of light citrus, floral, grassy, some caramel. The flavour is earthy, lightly bitter, toasty, caramel, some oranges. Finishes moderately bitter, long, malty.

Nicely bitter beer, with resinous aroma, little herbal, slightly soapy, but very good. Also quite malty, with some biscuits... Just a very good IPA with a twist. Twist being still bitter, but good malty backbone.

750 ml bottle from LCBO. Don Mills, ON. 5.6% Alc./Vol. Pours a hazy deep amber colour with one finger of lasting white head. It has an appealing floral aroma with a mild whiff of caramel scent. Taste is hoppy, peppery with a spicy finish. Medium body with moderate carbonation. Beautiful lacing clings to the side of the glass.
