Inspired by the Beaver River (rivière Castor), which connects Ottawa to many communities to the East, this IPA is designed to appeal to Hop Heads. Taking the malt and yeast profile of a traditional British style India Pale Ale and adding an American-style citrusy punch, our Beaver River is both assertive and drinkable. Beaver River is brewed with local spring water and the ingredients are 100% certified organic.

Bouteille 600 ml. 5.6%. Couleur ambrée claire, mousse blanche-beige pâle. Arôme de houblon et malt. En bouche, malt, houblon citrus, herbes. Finale amère, herbeuses, citrus. Très bonne.

600ml bottle. Pours a clear amber with a light beige head. Aroma is upfront with alcohol, caramel, dried fruits, some faint biscuity malt, vanilla but not much in the way of hop aroma. Kind of reminds me of Fullers ESB, or London Pride. If tasting blindly, I would never guess IPA by the nose. First taste makes the hop content clear. Caramel, and mineral undertones that are overpowered by grassy hop notes, with an overwhelming metallic, and eucalyptus finish that opens up to a bit of malt. It’s not bad, I like everything that’s going on under the hops but I can’t recommend it. If they dialed back the hops a little bit, this would be a great session beer.

Clear somewhat brownish pour with a clingy lacy head. Very very earthy scent with just a touch of hoppy flowers at the end. I’m reminded of gardening. Yep that’s an IPA, sorry IP Eh! Anyone who’s following along knows how I feel about IPAs. They are by far not my favourite beers. That said, this isn’t bad at all. It’s got that grapefruit, tart, throat pinching bite that every good IPA has that I really dislike. Other then that this is pretty good. Sweet at first. Flowery with a lot of citrus. Relatively light and easy to drink and quite refreshing. If only it didn’t have that IPA bite I think I would really love this. As it stands it’s still pretty good.

600mL bottle from the LCBO. Pours a copper colour with nice foamy white head that sadly dissipates fairly quickly. Smell is cirtusy and hoppy to the max, it smells almost entirely of grapefruit and lemon, though there is a small roasted cereal hint. Palate is really nice, some soft carbonation that cleanses the palate rather than attacking it, and it has a heavier feel, but still lightly refreshing. Taste is pretty nice, not a lot of hops on the first taste, but it gradually builds in your mouth and then lingers for a bit with a slightly bitter aftertaste. A nice beer, quite refreshing, and a decent IPA. Well done Beaus.

In a 600 ml bottle from the LCBO. Pours a lovely copper color with a nice but short lived head. The IPA flavors of citrus and bitterness but not to excess. An easy drinking if safe drink. Certainly easy to enjoy.

600 mL bottle. Aromas of pine and citrus, a little yeasty as well,. Pours a really appealing copper color with nice carbonation and a foamy white head. Nicely balanced bitterness and sugars, feeling a little more accessible and easy drinking than other bigger IPAs. Not over hopped, so it’s easy on the palate, finishing rather smooth. Much more pleased with this than the maker’s Lug Tread Ale.

Pretty good. These IPAs are a good conduit to the brewmaster’s palate and apparently his tongue is solid. Gave a sip to my sister and she got immediate beer face so I’m surprised it’s only 52 IBUs. Nice combination of citrusy and earthy hops. I could drink this all day. Give these guys a decade and they’ll be huge.

600mL bottle from LCBO. Pours clear amber with a thin head. Aroma of tropical fruits and a little pepper. Slight sweetness up front, followed by spicy piney hops and cherries, and finally a very bitter finish with hints of alcohol.

Nice copper to amber colour. Lovely colour, actually. Good solid head that lasts a few minutes then disappears. Lacing is present, but of average quality. This beer is a bit thin in body, and has a pretty thin mouthfeel, but has a clean finish with a great hoppiness. The hop character is slightly bitter but is at the forefront. Because the malt is a bit thin, it makes the hop character come to the forefront. Personally, I’d like to see a bit more malt character. The bear is perfectly bright, but Beau’s claims that it is un-filtered. I don’t see how you can make a beer this clear without mechanical filtration.
