4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Gravity cask at Volo, served in an English pint glass. Pours hazy orange-amber with a rocky white head. Head fades but laces well while it lasts. Big and fresh on the nose, with aromas of flowers, pine, grapefruit, lemon, grape and toffee. Flavour is moderately sweet throughout, ending with a long hop-floral finish. On the palate, medium in body with a watery texture and soft carbonation. Overall, this is an excellent IPA in the English style. Well hopped with American hops, but still balanced and subtle. The floral aroma is beautiful. A most pleasant surprise! 2010-04-30

4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
600mL bottle from the Lykbow. Pours a nice golden copper with a medium rocky head. Aroma is decent, bursting with hoppy citrus characters that play off the malts really well. Flavour has a lot of bittering hops upfront, making way for delicious bready-biscuit caramalts, followed by citrusy flavour hops. Finishes clean with lingering bitterness and malty sweetness. Body is medium, with somewhat tamed carbonation. Vaguely reminiscent of Sgt. Major’s IPA. Vaguely. This is a very solid beer, I would drink this regularly if it were more than just a seasonal. Another good ones from Beau’s.

4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
600mL bottle from the LCBO. Pours a copper colour with nice foamy white head that sadly dissipates fairly quickly. Smell is cirtusy and hoppy to the max, it smells almost entirely of grapefruit and lemon, though there is a small roasted cereal hint. Palate is really nice, some soft carbonation that cleanses the palate rather than attacking it, and it has a heavier feel, but still lightly refreshing. Taste is pretty nice, not a lot of hops on the first taste, but it gradually builds in your mouth and then lingers for a bit with a slightly bitter aftertaste. A nice beer, quite refreshing, and a decent IPA. Well done Beaus.

Bière cuivré avec un bon goût plutôt très malté, dégusté à la brasserie en fut. Pétillante et rafraîchissante.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
I tried this beer on April 8, 2011 after purchasing from the Queen’s Quay LCBO outlet. The beer poured a translucent copper colour with a generous light brown head. The aroma was pine, citrus, and malt. Very much like an English bitter. The mouthfeel was medium bodied with medium carbonation. The flavour was malty, with grapefruity hoppish bitterness.

3.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Slightly hoppy nose with floral accents. Typical IPA aroma but very light and subtle.
Appearance: Clear copper / brown with creamy long lasting head; sticking and lacing to glass marvelously.
Taste: Attack is very well balanced between malt and hops. Caramel and toffee are the main flavors with floral and grassy notes. Finish is very long lasting and all bitterness. A very well balanced traditional IPA. Typical of the style.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
