Brownish pour, decent sized head. Muted aroma, carael, herbs, (myrtle?). Roasted malt, caramel, herbs and spice, lemon, actually quite different, if not complex. Medium body. Definitely unique.

Tap. Pours dark amber with a white head. Light aroma with lemon and caramel maltiness. Medium body medium carbonation. Wood, light pine, lemon caramel... Nice askance. Good.

This thing foamed up big time. Very active head. Not a ton of aroma on the nose. This a recurring theme for Beau’s in my opinion and something that plagues their brand. I got a bit of herbs, and flowers and maybe a hint of bitterness. A much more pronounced palate. Very herbal taste sensations, and definitely some sweetness shining through. A bit strange, maybe different is a better word as I was getting neither hops nor maltiness. Decided to read the attached card which explained what I was experiencing. Zero hops in this one and indeed it is a Gruit beer.

Ambrée. Sucré. Florale/herbacé. Très Fruité. Baie, probablement la myrte. Épicé. Fine amertume végétale. Légère trame de caramel de l'entré à la finale. Très intéressante.

Bottle at RBWG 2014, thanks! Pours a hazy brown with a light brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has light tart fruit with grass, light spice and a bread backing. Flavor has a light tartness with grass, sweet grains and a bit of bread backing.

Bottle given to me by my colleague’s boyfriend back in Canada that I later shared at the Downtown Inn post-grand tasting party for RBWG. Full, tannish orange pour. Nose of pleasant caramel and cereal notes. Pleasant flavor has caramel malt, cereal, slight earthiness, and a surprise tartness. Lip smacking good. The tartness is sure a surprise in a good way. Crazy.
