750 ml bottle shared by jessem. thx for the share jesse! the was an odd ball! weird spicey sweet mix both in the flavour and the aroma. not at all drinkable but not poorly brewed. the belgian yeast profile didnt go un-noticed, neither did the myrtle.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
600ml bottle. Brown with a nice biege head that fades to a spotty covering. Somewhat roasted and sweet malt, some caramel, bit of belgian sugar, lightly spiced. Light carbonation, moderate body, sweet and a large malt presence, becomes a little weak on the finish.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Growler from the brewery, about a week "old"-It’s nice to have contacts in the Ottawa area.Decants a deep, clouded brown with a thin beige ring of head. The nose is certainly malt forward, and hints at dark rye bread, dark fruit and lots of spice. This is certainly sweet, but I’m not sure if it is from the malts or from the sweet gale. Either way it is pleasant. Fruity, quite spicy, almost savory. The alcohol content is not noticeable, and this beer finishes softly with the low carbonation. Spiced, sweet lingering aftertaste. Quite a treat.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours a clear dark copper with a thin offwhite head on top that leaves some lacing. Nose is of spices and herbs with a light reminescence of a pumpkin beer but with no nutmeg. Light smoke aspect to it, too. Taste is lightly sweet but all the spices and the light acidic edge make it all palatable. Flavors are once again of spices and herbs, mission accomplished. Body is light and carbonation high, mouthfeel lightly watery. Bog water indeed. Overall a fair gruit but just like pumpkin beers it’s a "once a year" kind of affair with me.
