3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Tap at Volo. Very cloudy amber pour, thin white head. Aroma is pretty yeasty, almost a dunkel character. Little bit floral, nutmeg and sweet maltiness. Medium body. Flavour is bready, little bit nutty and some molasses. Clean finish. Nothing extreme going on here but nice balanced brew.

bottle. Pours deep ruby, head quickly disappeared. Aroma of banana, yeast, malts. Taste is sweet, almost a cross between a dunkelweisse and a dubbel. Interesting and good.

600ml bottle. Nice clear amber body, low head, not much of a retention.
Aroma is sweetish, hops, malt, caramel, quiet herbal and refreshing.
Taste is malty, sourly, medicinal, sweet, a little oily. OK beer.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
3 finger head that goís away a few seconds or so later. Carbonated. Smellís kind foresty(twigs, ect)juicy and mabye a litle spice or something. Taste is kinda mudy like with some juiciness some twig, stick, forsty like tate. A little spice/yeast and stuff like that. Heavy bodied, leaves a little sour saliva in my mouth and a few sips have a bit of a alcoholic burn for a few secondís. Odd in an interesting way. Different bottle then picture. Cheerís!

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
Glass bottle from the LCBO. Pours a coppery red with a little head that dissipates nearly immediately. Smell is sweet and a bit floral, definite caramel coming through with maybe a tiny bit of cinnamon. Palate is perfect for me, some carbonation that lingers a bit but provides a nice and not overly harsh sensation on the palate. Taste is pretty good, medium sweetness and a little bitterness, definitely goes more towards the sweet side. The added spices are definitely noticeable and very interesting. Canít say Iíve ever had bog myrtle or sweet gale before. Aftertaste is a bit sweet, but disappears quickly. A decent beer overall.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Sweet and herbal. Lack of hops is obvious and distinctive. If you crave a hoppy beer this one wonít do it, but itís a very interesting candidate for when in a curious mood.

Ceramic from the brewery. Drank in a (Beauís...) Pint-glass), in two "servings".
Pours copper brown with shades of dark-green. Basically no white-head, somewhat flat. Earthy (read : muddy) /spicy aroma, with a slight hint of smoke.
Low bitterness, somewhat sweet as well.
Medium body, really flat though. Spicy from start to finish - I guess thatís what Sweet Gale is about.
I heard great things about that beer. Itís definitely good, and worth a try - because itís pretty unique (anybody knows another beer made with Sweet Gale?). Still, itís not as amazing as I expected - the folks at Beauís really told me it was an awesome one, and I was relatively disappointed, kinda like an A student who got a B+. Still a regular purchase, though.
