COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This strong & dark beer, inspired by the Alfred bog, is our very first seasonal offering. Featuring bog myrtle, or sweet gale, harvested from the wilds of northern Quebec. This ancient herb was used in brewing hundreds of years ago and offers bitterness, a sweet aroma and herbal spicy notes.

You’re not gonna win a lot of friends brewing beer with bog weed. And that’s what I like about this brew. Pours busted nose brown with a luscious one finger cap. Flavour is unlike anything I’ve had before. Down side is a coppery, pennies in water aftertaste. A true herbal offering, almost jarring in the way it presents itself. Clearly not a session beer, this is one to sip on & shake your head about. Like hearing a Grateful Dead song at a hip hop show. Recommended.

Tap. Pours dark amber with a white head. Light aroma with lemon and caramel maltiness. Medium body medium carbonation. Wood, light pine, lemon caramel... Nice askance. Good. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Thanks to cfrancis for this. Pours a murky brown with a frothy tan head. Aroma of sweet dried fruits, spicy herbs, pine. Taste is yeast and cloves, some sourness then has some sweetness and fruity notes. Interesting beer that is easy to sip on.

600 ml bottle from LCBO, served cool in a tulip glass. 06DE12.

App.: Deep reddish-brown, murky with a smallish yellow-tan head. Aroma: Quite like a Belgian Dubbel, strong yeast, dark dried fruit, light esters, malty and playful, faint minty herbals. Palate: Medium+ body, fine, creamy effervescence. Flav.: More herbal, bread, toast, yeast, less fruity, a touch roasted, faint esters, malty with more plant character; basically dry with minimal bitterness and a full ,yeasty, bready, malty finish.

Finally rated after a few bottles over the years. Enjoyable.

Bouteille 600ml.

600ml bottle from the LCBO. Pours a hazy dark brown with a huge beige head that takes a while to settle. Nose is yeast and cloves. taste is quite spicy but not as clove heavy as the nose would indicate and a cola like sweetness.. Medium body with lively carbonation.
