Bottle: Poured a dark color porter with a medium size light brown foamy head with medium retention and light lacing. Aroma of vanilla is quite important with some dry roasted malt notes. Taste is a good mix between some light dry roasted malt notes with some vanilla notes that are quite intense. Body is a bit light for style with good carbonation. Interesting but nothing extremely special at the end of the day.

2013-02-10. Black body nice tan head fades. 3++ Good amount of vanilla in the nose, sweet dark malt. 7+ Flavour is similar, sweet dark malt. The vanilla seems a bit too strong at first, but malt catches up to balance it a bit as the glass goes on. Still pretty vanilla prominent. 7+ Smooth medium body. 3+ Nice, but being in the mood for vanilla will help a lot! Bottle at Rhino Winter Festival, Toronto
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 jjarovi (48) - markham, Ontario, CANADA - MAR 11, 2013
Great easy drinking big Porter. A tad too thin, but few other faults. The spices and vanilla are balanced, malt and bitterness are full but on the lighter side so don’t overpower the other flavours.
Hope it makes wider release!

Bottle from the brewery. Deep brown body with a small cap of mocha foam. Not-too-sweet aroma of dark malt, vanilla bean, cocoa, and a bit of dried dark fruit. Medium bodied, perfect feel for a porter. Flavour follows the aroma in being sweet but not cloying, finding a good balance between slightly charred malt, sweet vanilla, and earthy hops. Quite nice!
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 blankboy (5153) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - FEB 14, 2013
Bottle at Rhino Winter Beer Festival, Feb. 10. Pours a very dark brown with amber hues and an average size frothy beige head. Nice aroma of chocolate and vanilla along with some malt -- simple but lovely. Flavour is also chocolate and vanilla backed by roasted malt. Dry finish. Medium bodied. This could get a bit cloying after a while but at a decent sample size, and if you like this sort of thing, it’s excellent.

On tap at the Only Cafe. Pours a very dark brown colour with a light brown head. Aroma is sweet vanilla and roasty chocolate malt and light coffee. Flavour has a lot of sweet vanilla and some very roasty (dare I say burnt) chocolate malt as well as a little coffee. Average body. A little sweet for my tastes but decent.
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 DerWeg (1394) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - FEB 3, 2013
Impenetrable dark brown, w creamy tan head. Great creamy palate with a welcome leafy sting of light hop bittering. Super tasty toffee-chocolate with a bit of vanilla in aroma and taste (had not noted ’vanilla’ in name before rating.) Dark fruit, dried Khadrawi dates. Nose and finish has a bit of spice. Only a hint of acridity and a little roast, nice palate.

En fût au Wellington gastro Pub. Couleur brune très foncée, presque noire. Mousse beige. Arôme de vanille et café, un peu de choco. En bouche, choco-vanille, sucrée, pas de houblons apparent. Très douce en bouche, très bonne.

Tap at C’est What. Deep black pour. Tight tan head. The aroma is softly sweet with faint vanilla and a little bit of lean roasted barley. A touch of sweetness but it’s actually in the dry side. The vanilla is there but it’s pretty subtle. Moderate earthy bitterness as well. A pretty simple porter (more stout than porter really) but pleasant enough.
