3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Metalchopz (1427) - Quebec, CANADA - MAY 3, 2012
Tried this one at the Bridgehead on Sparks street in Ottawa, February 2012 (as their launch to this brew). Pours a deep copper colour with a creamy off-white head that is long lasting. The nose had great cacao scent with coffee notes and light fruitiness. The taste has nice coffee hints with smooth bitterness. Pretty nice collaboration with these two great local brewmasters.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 BeerCast_Rich (1192) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - APR 26, 2012
[600ml bottle courtesy of cgarvieuk] Deep golden amber colour, with some carbonation – although fairly flat. Aroma of cigarettes and coffee. Peanuts. Flavours mostly consist of coffee and nuts. Strange. Smoky and strong but not that great a balance – I think there’s just too much going on, too many clashing flavours [22042012]
4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 mabel (4405) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - APR 25, 2012
[4359-20120329] Tap. Coffee grounds and roasted woody grains aroma. Dark red brown body with a medium-lasting creamy light tan head. SUPER coffee roast grounds flavour is like a cup of beery coffee with a shot of concentrated dark coffee. Full bitter body. So amazing if you’re a coffee drinker, I couldn’t rave about it enough. 3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20 dantheman278 (972) - SCOTLAND - APR 22, 2012
Bottle at cgarvieuk’s Danish Invasion tasting. Dark orangey copper, thick white head fades to a thin cap. Pungent coffee, dry malts, slight grassy hop nose. Coffee-dominated palate, some sweet malts, hints of honey, overly bitter coffee, oily, slightly artificial-tasting, hints of alcohol burn, generally a bit messy.

Bottle - 600ml. Dark amber body with an average off-white foamy head. Strong malty/hoppy aroma with chocolate and roasted coffee hints. Alcohol is well hidden. Its robust taste carries roasted coffee and some fruity notes. Ends with a long bitter/roasty finish.
2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 jerc (5580) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - APR 12, 2012
2012-03-29. Nice brown head, small beige head. 3+ Massive coffee flavour and aroma dominates, with very little of the base beer coming through. Average plus palate is smooth, softly carbonated. This is coffee with beer in it and not the other way around, which was thoroughly appreciated by those around me who like that sort of thing. I was not unfortunately one of them. Jeebus! Aroma Wooo! Plenty of coffee, dry nose, dry character. Potent caffeine in your face. Instant fix. 8-
Appearance dark amber-copper look. Clear. Medium yet short lived top.
Flavor and Palate : I don’t need coffee anymore was my first thought…Dry coffee roast, basic bold in your face smack. Chewy long lasting character with solid malt Base. Because of its intensity it’s good to split 750 with your friends.
