3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 cfrancis (1355) - Ottawa, - JAN 4, 2012
Pours a orange amber with a healthy frothy white top. Aroma is a little spicy, mostly malt and some german hop. Taste is a little bready with some spice from the Marzen. Overall it’s a little blegh, It’s drinkable but not very memorable. Marketing on the label is great.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 HeistAlmighty (540) - Saint John, New Brunswick, CANADA - MAY 11, 2012
600ml ml bottle, awesome art. Pours orange/amber with an ample fluffy head. Aroma is not strong, mild candy sweet malts and a little bread. Clean taste with some earthy hops. Spring water makes the palate very smooth. Overall, this is a perfectly fine beer, but I was hoping for something more mind blowing from a limited edition with such a cool presentation. More of a six pack beer than a seasonal special.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 solidfunk (647) - Ontario, CANADA - MAR 18, 2012
Another good beer from Beau’s. This one smells simply malty. THe taste has a sour mash feel to it. Carbonation is good and consistent. with a lasting head. Good murky pour. There is citrus and a taste of honey I can detect on an empty stomach. Good, but the dark side (Mr. Hyde) is better. Bottle at castro’s
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 GregClow (2664) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - MAR 17, 2012
Bottle from the brewery. Peachy-amber colour with a subtle haze and a tight white head. Aroma is mostly about the malt - grain from the Lug-Tread & fruitiness from the Night-Märzen - with some dried leaves and cut grass coming in around the edges. Flavour also starts quite malty with bread and biscuit, but spicy hops quickly make themselves known, and linger through the finish along with notes of orange oil and pepper. A curious combination that works better than might be expected.
2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 JoeMcPhee (6963) - Toronto, ON, Ontario, CANADA - DEC 1, 2011
Bottle at Burger Bar. Amber pour with a tight white head. The aroma is lightly sweet but with a touch of soft fruity estery character. A little bit of dustiness as well as some grainy malts. There is something inherently dirty about the yeast profile that I just don’t enjoy either in this or in the Lugtread. Meh.

Bottle - 600ml. Light amber body with a thin white foamy head. Good malty/hoppy aroma with grainy and herbal hints. Its sharp hoppy taste carries malty and herbal notes. Ends with a decent bitter finish. Enjoyable.

(Rating #3964)

... Bottle. Terrific bottle, actually. But... in the end, it just feels like it was somewhat unnecessary. Cereal crispness got lost in aggressive hopping (...relatively-speaking) and biscuit notes just got too faint to give a distinctive character to this one. Better than the Mr. Hyde, but I prefer the originals (LugTread and NightMarzen)

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Lubiere (6979) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 6, 2011
A hazed blonde marzen with a thin white head. In aroma, a grassy herbaceous wild grasss, with catnip notes. In mouth, a smooth chalky mlat with herbal hops, not bad. Cask at Beau’s Oktoberfest Oct. 1 2011.
