600 ml, drank in a chalice.Pours ruby/red. Really small creme head. No carbonation apparant. 2 feet away from the glass, overwhelming bourbon aroma. Plums, wood, malt and booze. Taste is bourbon, raisins, heavy on tannins. Bourbon-led finish long... long.... Perfect smooth carbonation and slightly stick. The third (and last) Bourbon barrel aged beer tasted from Beau’s. While the bourbon aging pretty much brought a variant for the other brands (slight variant-gone-wrong on the already barrel-aged (and magnificient) Matt Sleepy Time and slightly bigger variant and interesting twist on the peppery BogFater), it totally morphed the Festivale Plus into something that’s closer to a cross between an Old Ale and a Barley Wine. Also, while the beer is somewhat boozy, it’s certainly feels less boozy than 11%. It COULD be perfected, but it’s a great beer, and I hope to drink another one someday.

Beau’s festivale plus Sticke alt The Festivale plus is a nice refreshing beer. The potent elixir (11%!!) sneaks up on you as you are far from expecting it to be this strong. It explodes in the mouth as it is drank, and swifly mellows in a long finale. It has a gentle aroma of herbs and caramel somehow reminding me of buckley’s in a much better way. Excellent very cold. Light carbonation as well, similar to it’s sisters. Same brown thick robe, but this one has a long bitter finale. While it has an explosive fresh bitter sweet taste at first in mouth or you could say rather sharp, the finale is long, fresh and bitter. While I was looking for the oaky notes of this one, they were maybe too subtle for me to find. Well rounded beer, excellent amd satisfying for those ’only one’ type of nights.

Bottle - 600ml. Dark copper body with ruby glints and a thin off-white foamy head. Good malty/hoppy aroma with oaky and cherry hints. Alcohol is very well hidden. Very well balanced malty/hoppy taste with vineous and oaky notes. Ends with a sharp bitter/herbal finish. Well done.

[3791-20110625] Bottle. Lots of vanilla bourbon in the aroma. Clear, amber brown body with a medium-lasting creamy off-white head. Bourbon whiskey vanilla malt flavour has a good sweet long aftertaste. Smooth medium-full body. Nice barrel notes. (7/3/7/3/14+) 3.4

What a beautiful beer. Big aromas of vanilla, maybe caramel and the bourbon comes through on the back end. Medium sweet with very light carbonation. Pretty full body with a bit of a creamy mouthfeel. Have to try the regular Festivale Plus now!

2011-06-25. Brown body with a nice beige head. 3+ Big aroma of bourbon barrel, vanilla oak. 7+ Flavour is similar, sweet vanilla oak dominates over the sweet malt flavour. I had hoped for more from this, since the base beer works nicely with the flavours of the barrel aging, but the balance needs to be reversed for my own tastes. Average plus bodied palate. Bottle purchased at Beau’s 5th anniversary. Clear dark copper with a medium foamy off-white head with good retention. Aroma is bourbon, wood, vanilla, toasted malt, burnt caramel, a bit of alcohol and some herbal notes. Flavor is bourbon, wood, highly toasted malt, burnt toffee, sugar, warm alcohol finish but overall, the alcohol is very well hidden. Mildly bitter finish with some sweetness. Medium body with a slightly liquorous mouthfeel. Enjoyable, not cloying and very well made.
