Golden-amber. Malty, caramel nose. Light nuttiness and caramel, with a vague peanut accent. A little bit of peachy ester as well. Pretty uninteresting fare.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Lubiere (6979) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - JUN 27, 2008
A dark brown ale with a thick light moka head. Aroma of caramel, roasted coffee and nuts. In mouth, a very nutty alt, with good caramel malt base, roasted grains, some woody notes, and some nice herbal hops. Overall, really enjoyed this one. Bought at Ottawa Jazz Fest, 5.50$ for a 16 on. cup.

Tap at the Black Tomato, Ottawa. Hazy amber pour with a thick fluffy yellowish head. The nose is light caramelly with a pronounced fruity apricoty sweetness. The beer is quite light bodied but there is enough light caramel sweetness and fruity hoppiness toward the finish to keep it fairly interesting. It’s a pretty nice, light sessionable brew, really. Much better than I expected based on the trainwreck that is their Lugtread.

2008-08-23. Labelled "Festivale Plus" but likely the regular Festivale. Dark copper-brown body with a smallish beige head. (3+) Aroma is quite sweet with lightly toasty caramel malt. Flavour has fairly bitter overtones that mute the sweet malty core, touches of dry caramel malt. (6+) Smooth average palate is very lightly carbonated. Quaffable, pleasant, average. 7/3/6/3/14 - 3.3 On Tap, Golden Tap Awards, Toronto
2008-08-26. Good dark copper body with a modest tan head. (3+) Aroma is lightly fruity with a surprising amount of hops in the nose, mild malt base (6+). Flavour is similar with dryish caramel malt that has toasty touches in the highlights, a modest alcohol presence and bitterness in the finish. (6+) Average plus palate. (3+) Quaffable but just okay. 6/3/6/3/14 - 3.2 On tap at Volo as Festivale Plus

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 HogTownHarry (4872) - Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, CANADA - JUL 30, 2010
Draught at Hart House beer festival July 29 2010. Deep clear amber with a small beige frothy/foamy head. Smells sweet and herbal, a touch boozy and syrupy - reminds me a bit of the Fullers Vintage Ales, with the hints of iron and green fruit. Taste follows - fruit with a mineral and alcohol tang, a bit of harsh bitterness - average body, decent carbonation, a bit sticky and the alcohol really dries through the finish. Not bad.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 blankboy (4437) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 23, 2010
Draught at Hart House Craft Beer Fest. Pours a deep amber with a small diminishing frothy off-white head. Mild aroma is malty and nutty with a touch of sweet fruit. Nice flavour, also malty and nutty, along with a decent amount of hops in the finish. Flavourful and not watery. Medium bodied. Pretty good, especially for the style.
