COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This orange-hued bock beer was brewed with a light rye malt addition, and offers up mingling aromas of mint and herbs. Adventurously spiced, the malty, sweet taste gets a pleasant cleansing lift from the addition of cooling peppermint and herbal juniper. Light orange peel adds citrus complements in the flavour undretones. Try it paired with gingerbread, spring rolls or traditionnal winter holiday fare.

600ml bottle. Hazy brown/orange colour with a large off-white head. Some rye peppery malt, but mostly mint in the aroma. Tastes a bit better than it smells, rye malt, clove, dark fruit, but still mostly mint. Overall, there were things I liked about this, and things I didn’t. I’d like to try it without the mint.

Bottle [650ml] shared at Burger Bar w/ garthicus & HogTownHarry -- c/o HogTownHarry. Feb. 4. Pours a cloudy orange-amber with small foamy off-white head. Aroma is sugary sweet, fruity and kind of odd, but not in a bad way (must be the peppermint), quite spicy too. Flavour of spices, herbs and malt along with some sugary sweetness and honey. Average to medium bodied. Pretty good, it’s not something I’d want a lot of but it’s nice to share.

[4222-20111231] 600mL bottle. Peppermint orange leafy hop grains aroma smells a little like wet hair in a salon. Clear, amber orange body with a quick foamy off-white head. Grainy peppermint orange malt flavour. Medium body. Odd but good. (7/3/7-/3/13) 3.3

Bottle shared with several folks at Wvrst at the Beau’s Mates With Dates release party on Feb 17 2012. Orangey-reddish-amber colour with a bit of haze and a small white head. Aroma - holy crap, that’s a lot of peppermint! No complaints from me, I love peppermint. Also some orange peel, a bit of honey, and perhaps a suggestion of juniper berry if I really look for it. The mint isn’t quite as aggressive in the flavour, sitting back to let the orange and honey notes come to the forefront, but still providing a nice backnote. The juniper gives the finish a slight medicinal tang that works nicely.

Deep orange pour wit ha tan head. Aroma is spiced, maybe some nutmeg, cloves? Flavor is straddling that line between just enough and too much in terms of spiciness. Good flavor but got a little intense as it warmed. Good beer but consider sharing a bottle among a few people for dessert.

Pours an orange amber with a big frothy off white top. Aroma is spicy, a lot of mint and lime. Taste is a mix of a spicey mint and sweet malts. Nice mix but everytime I put my nose in the glass I was bombarded with mint. It really stuck out for me.

650ml bottle shared at Burger Bar with garthicus and blankboy. Bottle December 21st, 2011. Hazy fairly deep orange-amber with a small but lasting frothy mottled tan/beige head. Pungent aroma - sharp, really sinus-clearing - I thought maybe camphor or a cedar chest, but it was pointed out that it was LIME - whatever; not bad, but strange. Tasted like orange blossom honey - sweet, with a hint of cocoa and tangerine zest - really, really pleasant (8-). Mild carbonation, light body, a nice quick floral/honey finish - refreshing.

Bottle 1946 appearance: red orange with a small white head. Aroma: hmm like smelling nice spearmint gum but from someone else’s breath, lime, orange blossom honey, floral hops. Flavour: Wow, so unusual, oranges & mango & mint & coriander & hops & honey... Not much carbonation and a slightly sticky finish, oddly lovely. Spicy finish.
