Koru Belgian Pale Ale boasts interesting spicy, peppery yeast notes, with tropical fruit inflections from New Zealand Nelson-Sauvin and Rakau hops. Complex and tasty, with a dry finish.

Bottle, at home, drank in Chalice. Pours straw. Slightly hazy. Close to no head, but white lace. Aroma is mainly typical belgian yeast, with a little hop kick. Taste is clean, and sortof hoppy. I say sortof, because the citrusy tones that were dominant in the aroma are nowhere to be found, and are replaced by somewhat non-characteristic hopping. Good beer that could have been much better if the Nelson Sauvin was a little more upfront.

Semi-filtered gold body with a decent white head, that disappears fairly quick. Weak nose, but what’s new for Beau’s. Belgian yeast on the tongue, with a spicy pepper in there as well. Something else, like grassy banana esters, but not quite, that I haven’t ever tasted before. Funky, but drinkable. Certainly not Beau’s best though.

600ml Bottle dated 8 weeks prior. Translucent golden orange with thin foam. Bread-yeast and orange peel aroma. Taste of yeasty apple cider and hint of spice, too much apple cider taste for me.

On tap at The Berlin, Kitchener, ON. Spicy and tropical fruit aroma. Pleasant tropcial fruit taste, with some spice in the finish. Moslty sweet, with a bitter aftertaste. Very good.

biscuit malt and mild hop nose. A very thin white head on a rich gold and orange body. A well blended and refreshing Belgian pale ale. Spice, pepper, biscuit malt with cereal density, pilsnerish yeast, honey and a hint of kiwi and orange round out a complex and enjoyable taste profile. Taste sustains well but has a clean finish. Well done!

600 mL bottle. I really do wish they’d get rid of these. Fairly typical yeast-up-front Belgian. It becomes more interesting about half-way through, when the hops kick in, and it has a nice, relatively dry, finish.

Enjoyed 600ml bottle with Chopz at AC’s Saloon :P Poured a thick creamy head and has a medium hazy appearance. Pretty good lacing, lots of carbonation. Sediments are slightly visible. Aromas of yeast and a fairly thick malty smell. Very flavourful hops and somewhat creamy yeast mouthfeel. Sort of mild spice aftertaste. Good balance of hops and malts, slight edge to maltiness. Pretty good.
