Koru Belgian Pale Ale boasts interesting spicy, peppery yeast notes, with tropical fruit inflections from New Zealand Nelson-Sauvin and Rakau hops. Complex and tasty, with a dry finish.

600 ml bottle from the brewery via Lubiere, served almost cold in a tulip glass.

App.: Very cloudy deep golden with a fair, rocky white froth. Aroma: Beau’s rustic, a touch bright/tangy, some fairly aggressive peppery, spicy, green peppercorn notes, a bit of light maltiness, a touch yeasty, hints of esters and alcohol. Palate: Medium+ body, full, somewhat creamy effervescence with a few prickly bubbles. Flav.: Beau’s rustic graininess, fairly present grassy, peppery hops, a bit of yeast, faint Belgian yeast characteristics, a hint of alcohol; dry with surprisingly good bitterness and a somewhat peppery/grassy, slightly rustic finish.

The Beau’s “house” aromas and flavours don’t always appeal to me. Beyond that, I don’t mind this beer. Good attempt.

500ml bottle. Unfiltered honey colour, big, creamy eggshell coloured head. Body looks kind of oily. Aroma is citrus, tropical fruit and peppery. Taste is tropical citrus up front, with a punch of hops on the finish. Body is light and refreshing. Overall, edging towards a Belgian IPA.

Bouteille 600mL.

(Rating #4591)

[4850-20121008] Bottle. Mild grainy citrus peel aroma. Hazy, orange brown body with a long-lasting foamy off-white head. Super bitter dry grains and citrus pip flavour. Medium body. Great bitter bite but I prefer it sweeter than dry. (7/4+/7/3/15) 3.6

Bottle 600ml at Cest What?:
Aroma: aromatic , dry character , some sweeter side. Hint of wheat? Belgian yeast notes that followed. True. Belgian golden pale ale as base. 7+
Apperance: crystal clear golden with light hint of amber. Medium plus white top. 3+
Taste/Palate etc. Medium bodied with slightly thinner walls. Clean fermented , semi dry Belgian feel. Dry hopped with medium plus carbonation. Good hop approach. Nice.

Bottle, Oktoberfest mix pack 2012, thanks Kristi! Dark hazy yellow, large white bubbly head. Really interesting aroma of pineapple and mango - very sweet. Floral notes as well, awesome. Taste - fruity - pineapple and mango again. Yeasty. Pepper bite in finish. Body a tad watery but minor complaint. Really drinkable with tons of flavour - nice job Beaus.

Bottle [600ml]. Pours a cloudy copper with an average size long-lasting frothy white head. Some lacing on the glass. Aroma of Belgian yeast, herbs, grassy hops, citrus fruit and wheat. Nice hoppy flavour along with citrus, wheat, Belgian yeast, spices and herbs. Decent bitter finish. Average to medium bodied. Enjoyable and easy to drink. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

600 ml bottle. Pours a mostly clear golden with a resilient white head. Smell is yeast, floral hops. Taste is very sweet, vanilla cake, lemon. For a Belgian-style, I must say it seems a bit lackluster on the buds...Finish is lots of bitterness, lemon, grapefruit, earthy, white wine. Very sharp bitterness, very solid. Great finish, strong, but not overwhelming. Foamy mouthfeel, light bodied. Average carbonation. I don’t know about it being a "Belgian-style", but it definitely fit as a Pale Ale.
