Beau’s flagship offering is Lug Tread Lagered Ale, named after the tire treads of a small tractor, a true symbol of Eastern Ontario. Golden-hued, crisp and finely balanced, Lug Tread is a tribute to “Kölsch” the classic beer of Cologne, Germany. Lug Tread is top fermented (like an ale) and then cold aged, or “lagered”, for a lengthy period. This gives it some light ale notes, complemented by a lager-like crispness.

On tap at Bauer Kitchen. Plain lager aroma. Taste of hay. A little creamy. Slightly bitter finish. Meh.

Une bonne bière à l'ancienne! Old school. Rien d'extraordinaire mais fait très bien la job! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Sold in cute 4 X 600ml bottle packs (wrapped with Old Navy hoodie looking string?) this is a gorgeous golden looking ale. The bubbles are small and refined, and the head is picture perfect creamy white. Like that beautiful blonde you met at the bar, this beer looks great but may leave you feeling bored as the conversation is pretty much predictable. Some heavily hopped craft beer veterans will find this beer too ordinary, but it is very drinkable and many people will love it. It’s an awesome ale for a hot summer day, particularly if served cold. It’s crisp and clean tasting with a semi-sharp finish on the tongue. Sometimes, good looking is good enough and some gentlemen prefer blondes.

Bottle sample at Huna 15. Gold pour. White head. Crisp and clean. Nothing remarkable. Light bready notes, no real hops to speak of.

Bottle (600 ml). Split 3-ways.

Appearance: Clear pale bright golden with a medium diminishing white head and little lacing.

Aroma: Quite herbal with pils malt, grains and straw.

Taste: Herbal forward, pils malt, grains, light sweetness and very light bitterness.

Palate: Light to medium body. Clean. Slightly dry finish. Moderately lasting herbal presence.

Overall: Simple, easy drinking and quenching Kölsch-style beer. Clean.

Tasted at event. Inconsistent from first experience. Possibly expired or bad batch. Left oily feeling in mouth I was not a fan of
