COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Beau’s flagship offering is Lug Tread Lagered Ale, named after the tire treads of a small tractor, a true symbol of Eastern Ontario. Golden-hued, crisp and finely balanced, Lug Tread is a tribute to “Kölsch” the classic beer of Cologne, Germany. Lug Tread is top fermented (like an ale) and then cold aged, or “lagered”, for a lengthy period. This gives it some light ale notes, complemented by a lager-like crispness.

600ml bottle LCBO: Golden lager with white frothy head and lace. Malty hoppy aroma. Taste is bready and malty backed up by some bitter hop contenet. Balanced and clean.

Pours clear light gold with big white head. Looks like cider almost. Aroma is of bread, honey, caramel, and herbs. Tastes of bread, honey, light caramel, and earthy spices. Has a great refreshing palate. It is extremely smooth and drinkable yet so flavourful too. I don’t see how it is rated so low.

4 pack from LCBO bought on occasion for my neice’s most recent visit. She proudly declared this was her new favourite beer & like a good uncle I just wanna keep her off the Budweiser. Ive drank this many times but oddly I’ve never rated it. I like Beaus more than most people I know, but this has never been my go to from their stable. Pours wet & frothy in the glass. I like German beer styles & this is a pretty decent take on a kolsch. Starts a bit sugary, with herbal notes & barnyard hay in the middle, a brief grassy hop finish. Greater than the ratings suggest.

Sampled on draught. A golden colour with a white head. Malty, bready aroma. The taste is of malt and dough and is quite full and complex. Much better than most of the local lagers. Some grassiness in the flavour, but not much bitterness. Quite drinkable.

3/12/16. Sampled during 2016 Hunahpu’s Day. Golden pour under a small off-white head. Nice aroma, clean lager aspect, lightly fruity, grassy, grainy and doughy pale maltiness. Good flavor, clean and smooth, grassy, a touch of spice and fruitiness, grainy and doughy pale malts. Tasty enough.

Draught at Saint-Bock. Not too sure what style this is meant to be but this one is lagerish, fairly thin, watery and boring. Have yet to be impressed by this brewery and it may take a while...

Tap at Gingerman lunch. Fine golden kolsch look. Nose is faint fruity, and hops. Tastes of grains, herbal, straw, some light fruit, distant hops. Not all that crisp but nothing off putting.

Poured from a bottle. Clear golden color, medium frothy white head. Light sweet cereal aroma. Medium body with a crisp light bitter grain flavor with a light finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap in Brooklyn. Golden pale, large head. Not much detectable aroma. Taste is sweet malt, maybe corn? A slight hoppy tang. Not bad for a beer this light.

0.6 bottle. Clear, gold color and a medium, thin, white head. Aroma of hops, pale malts, and some esters. Taste of pale malts, a little bit of corn - very simplistic. Light body, slick texture, and soft carbonation. Finish is smooth and uneventful. Overall a very standard lager, not even that tasty.

This is a great beer! I really like the silky sensation you get with every drink. It is a mellow lager with a nice flavour. A good drink with dinner. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
