3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle from the brewery. Clear pale gold pour with a large fluffy white head. Nose has yeast, hone, grain and faint grass. Lightly sweet honey and toffee start followed by a very light bitterness and a short crisp finish. Mouth is medium light with average carbonation. Good alternative to a pale lager.

On tap at WVRST - part of a tasting set. A very clear deep gold pour with a thin filmy head. It has a fruity and rough malt aroma. Medium bodied with a clean malty crackery taste - think a bready pils. Very nice.

1.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20

Tap at McNeil's, Port Hope. Surprised I hadn't rated this one. Pours a clear gold with a with head. Very little aroma, might as well be water actually. Light body medium carbonation. Lemon, honey, light caramel, white bread, a bit dull but ok.

UPDATED: JUL 16, 2014 600ml bottle at Zak’s Restaurant. Pours a light straw color. Thin white head. Definitely filtered. Lively carbonation. Aromas of light citrus with hints of caramel malt. Mouthful is light and refreshing. Tastes of a citrus and malt balance. Has a nice lime infused tingle on the swallow. A bit old school but very sessionable.

UPDATED: JUN 29, 2014 Golden in colour, clean, refreshing. Very weak head tho, disappeared quickly. I have never tasted a kolsch but I assume very much like a lager. As far as lagers go, its very good, for sure one of the best ones I have ever drank, no skunk taste or anything like that, very crisp. But overall the style is still rather boring. Don’t know why I purchased the 4 pack of 600ml bottles, would of rather had 1 or 2 and been done with it, I had a fealling it wouldn’t be anything great yet I still purchased it and at a rather high end price. Probably good on a hot day tho.

On draft at an earth to table pizza joint in Hamilton, ON. Had no clue what it was when ordering it, but after tasting it, I said to myself "seems like a Kolsch." Happy to see that this is in fact what they were going for. Light malt aroma and flavor. No apparent hop flavors, just enough to balance. Quite clean and refreshing - definitely a pizza beer, which is good since this is what I had it with. Solid Kolsch.
