COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Mission Accomplished is an American IPA, brewed with a bold hop aroma and assertive bitterness. The combination of organic American and New Zealand hops give the beer sweet, juicy notes of tangerine, tropical fruit and pine. Bready malts provide some backbone but ultimately are no match for the smooth hop bitterness. The American yeast supplies mild, fruity esters that ease back and allow the hops to take their rightful place in the spotlight.

History & Style
The India Pale Ale (IPA) style was first brewed in England. Pale, assertively hopped and strong, over time the style became malty and weaker in alcohol. Early American craft brewers reinvented the IPA using American hop varieties, which gave the style its bold signature citrus and pine aroma.

Tasting Notes
Aromas of tangerine and pine hit the nose first, and then are joined by a spicy and floral hop bouquet, mingled with tropical fruit. The taste is of sweet, juicy hops with flavours of citrus and pine, followed by a smooth bitterness that lingers on the tongue. Bready malts provide just enough balance to make this IPA thoroughly enjoyable sip after sip.

Food Pairings
Big IPA flavours prefer equally bold and/or spicy food match-ups. Think strong cheeses, jerk chicken, or curry vindaloo.

Bottle - 600ml. Hazy amber body with a thin off-white foamy/creamy head. Fresh hoppy aroma with orange, herbal, and yeasty hints. Its robust, sharp hoppy taste carries citrusy and yeasty notes. Ends with a long bitter finish. Very good American IPA.

600 mL bottle from the brewery shared with friends in a tulip glass. Murky orange-amber with floaters and basically no head. Juicy, fruity hops with some pine and resin, nice caramel malt. Medium plus body with restrained carbonation. Quite malty, resinous, fruity, nice balance; dry with big bitterness and a resinous, caramel finish. Mission accomplished indeed.

Bottle from the brewery. Full disclosure: I drank this the other night while watching a movie and didn’t take notes, so this is from memory. From what I recall, it was slightly hazy dark red-orange with a creamy off-white head. Aroma was a touch muted, but with a nice balance of caramel malt and orange peel & pine resin hops. Flavour followed the aroma, opening up more as it warmed, with the citrus and pine resin really coming through in the finish. Not complex, not experimental - just an excellent US-style IPA from a brewery not known for hoppy styles.

[bottle] Potent, fresh pine and tropical (Simcoe?) hops in the nose with apricot and grapefruit notes in front of a lemony caramel base malt. Slightly hazy, dark copper under a persistent, off white blanket that is somewhat lacy. Flavour is pine and tropical fruit hops together with sweet, light caramel. PIneapple and guava accents with some faint grassiness. Assertive bitterness balances the sweet malt. Medium body, medium carbonation, lingering bitterness is not harsh, but does hang on for a while.

600ml bottle. Hazy orange, big frothy head. Citrus aroma, grass, and resins. The citrus fades, malts come through with the cereals. Crisp finish, quite bitter, pine resin finish. Good, not great.

On tap. Orange hazy colour with good lacing on the glass. I found the aroma quite muted however but there is some citrus and pine cones and a light caramel note. On the palate it is also sort of disappointing in flavour sporting a fast finish and a hallow mid-palate. it is bitter and hoppy like an IPA should be but overall, rather forgetful.

2014-02-14. Hazy dark orange body with a nice white head. 3+ Aroma of green leafy hops that have a freshness about them, muted orange touches, lightly resiny. Flavour is pleasantly bitter throughout, moderate citrus notes. Light resiny touches and a not quite grassy character in the finish lingers with green leafy hops. Average plus bodied palate, good carbonation. 3+ I’d prefer more citrus and fruit from the hops personally but it is lovely and quite quaffable as it is. Nice stuff! On tap at The Wallace, Toronto

Tap at C’est What. Beautiful deep orange pour. Hazy with a thick white head. The aroma is pretty fruity - orange and light pine along with notes of mango and soft tropical fruit. A little bit of light sweetness and a pretty punchy assertive bitterness. The fruitiness lingers through the palate and has a touch of tropical/herbal character. As it warms the more interesting tropical notes come through. Pretty solid straight up IPA

[Draught at DeSotos] Pours a murky copper-gold with an average size semi-lasting frosty off-white head and a good amount of lacing on the glass. Nice hoppy aroma, piney, citrusy and fruity, backed by biscuity malt. Flavour of citrusy and piney hops along with sweet bready malt, some fruit and a somewhat big bitter finish. Medium bodied. A solid American style IPA.

On tap at Stack. Pours a cloudy copper colour with large eggshell-coloured head. Aroma has fairly strong piney hops with some citrusy notes and an underlying graininess. Flavour is fresh and full of pine resin and grapefruit zest with some understated caramel and grainy notes. Quite bitter in the finish. Carbonation on the fine but lively side. Nice US IPA.
