3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Quevillon (2011) - Sainte-Thérèse, - OCT 3, 2011
12 oz on tap at Beau’s Oktoberfest 2011, October 2, 2011. A bit hazy amber, thin head. Aroma of barley and green grass, a bit sweet. Taste bitter herbs, a little raw grain, not bad bitterness. This is correct as a hybrid!

600ml bottle. Pours dark amber brown with large off-white head. Unfiltered; there is some sediment. Very low carbo. Aroma is faint, a little orange peel and a hint of soap. Taste is largely an earthy hop bitterness and rye bread. Little bit of caramel sweetness. Finish is mostly dry and body is full. Overall, much more interesting than the Jekyll.

On tap at Wvrst. Hazy amber with a foamy cream head. Carbonation is active and light. Aroma is sweet cereal and caramel maltiness, classic German hops (grassy, mineral, slight citrus). Bready. Medium smooth mouthfeel. Slight saltiness. Balanced and bitter grass an minerals on the finish. I wasn’t impressed at first, but it warned up nicely. It’s solid given the challenge of this being an unpopular style, they did a good job. Not mind blowing, but much like other Beau’s offerings, I could drink a few of these and not complain.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 blankboy (4437) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 13, 2012
Draught at Volo. Pours a deep orange-copper with a small semi-lasting frothy white head. Mild aroma is fruity, grainy and lightly tart along with caramel malt, very light hops and just a hint of smoke. Fruity flavour is a touch metallic (or something that reminds me of that) along with caramel malt, a hint of rye and a very bitter finish. Medium bodied. I didn’t much care for this, I’m sure it’s well made, it’s just a little too mild and dull for me -- personal preference.

On tap at Volo
Aroma mild, fruity with sweet caramel. Gentle hint of rye, rose on sides. 7-
Appearance gentle haze on red copper. Light white top. Pretty. 4-
Flavor and Palate : medium full bodied. Soft mid textures based on rye. Dry leafy hints that were bit too harsh when you pair with such soft malt bottom. Quiet bitter at finish with roughness that it’s hard to shake off. If you eased on hop this would be solid nice rye ale.
