3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap the Aulde Dubliner. Color is pretty much plain yellow. Average whitehead, a wee bit hazy. Aroma is really heavy on yeast and lemon. Taste is typical saison -- fruits (pear, lemon) and tartness. Quite carbonated and rather dry. Typical Beau’s freshness/grainy mouthfeel. Good.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
600 mL bottle. Nice hazy orange-copper-gold colour with a solid head. Fairly typical aroma of wheat, fruit and dust. Nice tasting saison - perhaps a little fruitier and less dry than the norm, but certainly easily recognizable as a saison.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
600 mL bottle from LCBO served cool in a tulip glass. Clear deep golden with a fluffy off-white head. Fairly spicy, citrus, faintly floral, light floral esters, minerals, a touch rustic with an aggressive pine/resin note from the hops, not bad. Medium body, fairly full carbonation. Citrus, esters, a bit spicy with that Beau’s house character...rustic and almost harsh, grainy malt; dry with fairly high bitterness and a citrus, fruity ester, slightly harsh and rough, resinous finish. Has some nice aspects and some not so nice aspects.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a hazy gold, with a massive pillowy head. Aroma notes include ripe fruits, Belgian yeast, liquorice, and spice. Tasting notes include rich fruits, and earthy yeast notes, citrus, spice, and a clean finish. This is a decent saison that is highly drinkable.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
600 ml bottle from the LCBO. Pours a foggy amber, with thick white head and moderate carbonation.
Aromas right out of the gate feature white pepper, spice box, and a light citrus blend.
Taste is white pepper, coriander, and a hint of bitter orange peel.
I’m not overly familiar with Saisons, but regardless this a very tasty, thirst quenching winner of a summer beer. One of the best combinations of aroma, taste, and being sessionable, I have seen in any beer in a while, and definitely my fave Beau’s offering of 2014 thus far.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
500ml bottle, 2012 Best of Beau’s pack. Lemon/banana colour, unfiltered, some floaties, very large off white head. Light citrus, heavy coriander, some Belgian yeast in the aroma. Less coriander in the taste. Light and refreshing body. Lots of carbo. Overall, reminds be a lot of a Belgian wit.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Not bad at all. Pours clear straw with an initial foamy head that fades to just a light ring. No lacing. Nose is yeasty and peppery. Aromas of light fruit, grassy hops and a peppery finish that is maybe a touch too much. Tastes are light sweet and medium bitterness. Body is light enough with very lively carbonation. Solid summer beer.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
600 mL bottle from the LCBO, served in a snifter. Pours hazy golden with a small, rocky white head that fades to a thin cover and leaves a small amount of fine lace. On the nose, there are subtle notes of wheat, pepper, citrus, flowers and grass. The flavour is dry and lightly bitter with an herbal, floral, citric quality. Flavours of coriander and lemon come through, along with yeast and soft spice. A slight bitterness emerges in the finish, which is long and peppery dry. On the palate, it is medium in body with a milky texture and soft carbonation. Overall, this is a decent example, refreshing yet reasonably complex. 2012-12-19
