COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Helles is the ultimate hot weather lager. It is a light-bodied, straw coloured thirst quencher with slightly grainy pilsner malt notes, grassy hop aroma and a refined bitterness. This well-balanced, crisp and refreshing beer is perfectly suited for summer patio sessions. And like all our beer, Raise a Little Helles is certified organic by Pro-Cert Organic Systems Ltd.

probstblueribbon (2918) - Nepean, Ontario, CANADA - DEC 6, 2011
Sample from a growler from Lubiere (merci!) at Mike’s, served cold in a tulip glass. 20NO11.

App.: Slightly hazy light golden, thin white head. Aroma: Hay, straw, wet grains, light cereal, a little biscuit, a touch fruity, meh. Palate: Medium body, prickly effervescence. Flav.: Chalky, hay/straw, light cereal/grain, “typical” Beau’s flavour, not something I love; dry with minimal bitterness and a grainy finish.

Meh, at best.

pours a clear pale yellow with a small and disappearing white head. bready and beau’s characteristic malts - somewhat very close to lug-tread. very light body, average carbonation although close to being harsh. lighthly hopped, but there’s still a citrusy sharpness at the end. high drinkability but not a helles classic... nor a beau’s...
