A Belgian ale featuring intense tropical fruit notes from generous late-addition hopping and spicy character derived from fermentation with Belgian ale yeast. The bitterness is apparent but balanced by the fruity hops and spicy notes provided by the yeast. History & Style A Pro-Am collaboration with Joey Kilbride, Best of Show Winner of the 2012 Homebrewing Competition at the National Capital Craft Beer Week in Ottawa. Tasting Notes A complex array of aromas present themselves in this beer; tropical and citrus fruit notes (orange, unripe peach and star fruit) from the hops along with some piney inflections. Also present in the bouquet and on the palate are spicy, peppery notes and some clove intonations. The finish is clean, balanced and dry with some lingering hop character.

600 mL bottle. Pours hazy golden with a thick white head of foam. Aromas of mango, papaya, melon, orange, biscuit like malt, pine and a hint of yeasty spice. Flavour offers a hint of sweetness followed by a massive bitter hop bite. Hugely carbonated and waxy/sticky on the palate. Long lingering aftertaste of hop goodness. Good stuff.

Peaches and Mandarin oranges feature strongly along with icing sugar and herbal and earthy notes. Hazy tan body is topped by a generous and lasting white head that leaves some lace. Fruit flavours are up front. Really nice yeast character with herbal and spicy notes. Bitterness is not all that pronounced and sweetness lingers a bit. Medium body is quite dry with really nice, expansive, soft-bubbled carbonation. Snifter. Just above fridge temperature and allowed to warm. Bottle purchased at the LCBO in December 2013.

600 mL bottle. Hazy orange, with lots of head. Almost too much head. The head doesn’t last, but it laces nicely. Nice gravelly bitterness, but you have to let the beer warm before there is enough body from the malt to hold up to it. Needs more from the yeast, and a little more juiciness from the hops. Not a bad beer, though.

Part of "The Best of Beau’s 2013" 4-pack at the LCBO. Pours a slight hazy golden-amber colour with a nice warm cap that is kind of creamy, with very good retention and lots of lace. Smells like a pilsner at first. All because this one has a sharp grassy hop aroma with citrus, light honey sweetness and some adjuncts found in some of the cheap swills that have high alcohol. Not smelling, nor tasting much Belgian Ale yeast. Bitter taste, but not really dry. The malty grain is quite different. Still remind me of an Impy Pils. Definitely better than the Doc’s Feet Dubbel, found in the same pack (and part of the Pro-Am series), but still not something I would drink more.

Hazy yellow pour, with a huge frothy white head. A great aroma of grass, lemons, cereals, orange peel, and tropical fruit. Lively carb, liverly mouth feel. Finish is quite bitter, loads of pungent hops, and some pine, citrus hop notes. A great belgian,

Version VI from lcbo sampler pours murky orange with a frothy cap pops a few fingers before a quick fade. Aces on the flavour here: peeled citrus, spices & chunky hops. Has the Beau’s signature full-throated earthy bitterness, with the added fruit (peaches & something else i cant identify). May be my favourite of beer in their stable.

A nice Belgian IPA. Nice sweetness, citrus flavour, but well balanced, nothing over powering but enjoyable like I kept wanting more. Picked up a 4 pack of Beaus mix pack at LCBO, it is pricey but taste wise so far so good.
