COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Wag the Wolf is a weissbier (wheat beer) that has been generously “late-addition” hopped with organic New Zealand varieties to provide abundant aromas of citrus and tropical fruit. Made with 65% wheat, and fermented with a traditional German weissbier yeast, expect pleasant fruit and spice flavours with a restrained bitterness on the finish.

History & Style
Our hopfenweisse, is a hop-forward and North American twist on the Bavarian weissbier. The traditionally fruity, spicy and refreshing weissbier is matched with big hop aromas of citrus and tropical fruit.

Tasting Notes
Hazy and pale gold in colour. Notes of banana, clove, papaya, mango and citurs on the nose. Lively carbonation with pleasant maltiness. Spicy and fruity, with a slightly dry finish.

Food Pairings
Sausage, Duck & Game Fowl, Goat Cheese, Summer Salads. Plays nicely with spicy food.

Bottle from LCBO. Pours a hazy gold yellow with a white head. Wheaty, yeasty, slightly spicy lemon aroma. Light body. medium carbonation. White bread, lemon, light bubblegum, light pepper, grass, light woodiness... Crisp, refreshing, quite dry. Nice.

Pours a light , filtered straw colour, with a medium sized white head, and moderate carbonation. Considerable lacing left behind as drunk. Aromas of citrus, a light pepperiness, and a touch of Belgian yeast. Taste wise I’m getting mild citrus, a bit of banana, and light pepper (although far less pepper than their excellent Patio Saison). Overall a very refreshing Hopfenweiss, and an excellent summer beer. My fave Beau’s label to date.

600 mL botttle. Mildly hazed straw with a thick white head. Aromas of tangerine, pomelo, key lime, canteloupe, banana and yeasty spice. Delicate malt sweetness and a balanced hop backbone that isn’t all that bitter. Crisp and refreshing. Full carb and sticky mouth feel. Very nice.

This beer is no more or less than it describes on the label. Well done. Great label. Could use more yeast character for this style. Also surprisingly not that hazy for a hefeweizen, but that is neither good nor bad. Love the label.

Bottle: Poured a hazy pale yellow color ale with a generous white head with good retention and some minor lacing. Aroma of wheat malt with some tropical fruity notes is quite refreshing. Taste is also dominated by some good wheat malt with light grainy aftertaste and some medium tropical fruits notes. Body is quite full for style with good carbonation. Very enjoyable brew and probably and one that I could see myself purchasing again in the future.

ml bottle bought at LCBO in Hawkesbury on May 29, 2014. Straw, small head. Dry yeast aroma, notes of banana cream and cream soda. Taste of wheat and nectar, notes of herbs slightly dry. Not as nice as the wolf ont the bottle!

Cloudy yellow with ample white head. Barnyard aromas dominate but has a hint of citrus or corriander. Flavours are elegantly balanced: peach, orange, mixed berries giving way to a subtle yet warming vanilla toddy. Alcohol is incognito. Esti qu’c’est Beau!

650ml bottle from the LCBO. Hazy pale yellow with a rocky white head that lingers. Nose has lots of wheat, citrus and banana as well as clove and pepper. Taste is sweet fruit with a fair level of spice throughout but not overpowering. A slight bitterness leading to a dry finish. Medium light mouth with active carbonation. Nice if a bit spicier than i would expect.

3 finger head once it fades it’s 1 finger or less & a little lacing. Veary carbinaded long time. Light watery yellow clear color. Smell I am not 100% sure how to discribe but taste wise as soon as I take some in hit with hop bitterness, resin and a grassy note. A little watery ale taste that go’s away fast & then in the back a little banana taste. Sadly for the amount I drank so far, has veary briefly little tropical notes or none that is said to taste & other’s taste :( For me the majority of the beer is just a bitterness resin hop taste that last long and warms ya up a little. So, disapointed somewhat with this one a little. Wish I could taste the tropical notes. This beer was from Feburay acording to the date on bottle but found it this month that I am drinking it in.
