Wild Oats Series No. 13 Orange hued with a tall creamy head, Weiss O’ Lantern is a white beer brewed with pumpkin. Pumpkin citrus fruit and spice flavours shine through it’s full, wheat body. The finish is lively, zippy and darn refreshing.

Bottle and on tap - pours a clouded orangey gold with a rich cap. Lots of natural effervescence. Demure aroma is a mutation of a Hefeweiss and a pumpkin beer - fruitiness just below a musky earthy squash tones and pumpkin spices prevalent. Flavor is also a amalgam of Hefe and pumpkin flavors much like pumpkin pie spritzer - bready, pumpkiny, spicey but with Weiss peppery carbonation and dryness - the finish dries and you get herbal-woody Hallertau bite at the end. A zesty pumpkin beer that is actually refreshing/quenching as well. More great innovative brewing from Beau’s.

Big bottle, Ann Arbor, MI via LCBO Windsor. Golden, clear. Sweet metallic caramel aroma with some grain. Sweet, mellow, caramel and faint clove. One of the better pumpkin ish beers I’ve had.

Pale orange pour. The nose is lightly fruity. Light ginger and some fruit. There’s a bit of phenolic notes but it’s subtle. Pretty nice really.

My Bottom Line:
Ginger and cloves ride this Weissbier’s bananas, effortlessly leading to bready cereals and pertinent herbal hop bitterness.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A sheet of foam covers the misty golden amber. Retention is low for the style though.
-Mouthfeel is lightly creamy and a bit prickly.
-The added spiciness is well balanced with the rest of the flavor profile.
-Good idea to combine pumpkin pie spiciness and Weissbier yeast character!

600 ml bottle from the Oktoberfest pack.

Appearance: Pours a hazy amber colour with a finger of white head.

Aroma: Flowers, yeast, grass, clover.

Flavours: Yeast, flowers, hint of banana and ginger.

Mouthfeel: Thinner with lots of carbonation.

Overall: Where is the pumpkin? I get zero pumpkin aroma and none in the flavours. This is an okay Wheat beer but there is no pumpkin.

Bottle from local iga grocery A: light nutmeg and cinnamon, light pumpkin, other spices app: clear golden white head some lacing. T/p: med body with moderate long bitter finish. Some warmness from the spices. Moderate carbonation. O: a somehow different "pumpkin" beer. Not super strong on spices, be prepared. I enjoyed it.

On tap at Le Projet. Cloudy golden in the glass with a thin-ish white head that leaves good lacing. Nose is of fruity and different from your usual pumpkin beer. More focused on the fruits side than the spices, there is still a bit of pepper and spices but none of that nutmeg you have in nearly 100% of all pumpkin beers. Taste is of pumpkin and lightly tart, offers some whteat and the weisse character is preserved. I didn’t expect much and I can say I’m enjoying this way more than I thought I would. Body is medium and carbonation high and prickly. It never feels heavy or cloying, I believe I could have downed another glass without a problem. Nice one Beau’s, nice one.

Smells just like an ale, nothing pumpkin or wheat beer. Light golden orange with 2 finger head and massive amount of carbination constintly rushing up. Taste like a wet ale that is juicy(from the pumpkin puree.) As the wet body starts drying out the juicy taste stay’s and then near the end there is an orage soda taste from the orange peel some and maybe a bit of ginger and cinnamon. Not the best pumpkin beer & far from the worst. Cheer’s!!!
