COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Two local companies, Beau’s All Natural Brewing and Bridgehead Coffee, have collaborated to create a special beer to help Ottawans keep warm during Winterlude this year. “WinterBrewed” is a strong amber ale brewed by Beau’s, infused with an organic coffee selected by Bridgehead. The beer selected for the blend holds its own as well: a strong ale with a rich amber colour, which features toasty, biscuity notes from the malt, and a herbal, slightly fruity contribution from the hops.

Pours a clear reddish brown with a bit of white head. Smell is a large dark from Bridgehead. I had enough of them during university to instantly recognize the smell. Palate is light bodied with a moderate amount of carbonation. Taste is a large dark at bridgehead. I’m not sure if I like this so much because it’s good or because of nostalgia.

Bière cuivrée avec un nez matinal de café. La bouche est cendrée avec du café corsé. Belle torréfaction, bon goût. Un exercice de style réussi.

Pours a cherry wood/amber, thin short lived head. The aroma is dominated by coffee, its really all I can smell, well roasted, well brewed, cold coffee. The flavour is equally coffee dominated, again its pretty much all I can taste and it tastes good. I would say it’s simple, and one dimensional, but that wouldn’t really be true, the coffee notes have a complexity all on their own.

Right away you can smell and taste the Coffee. Myself not really being a coffee drinker this beer obviously was not for me. But i could definitely see why a coffee drinker could love this beer.

Bottle, pours a medium brown, a bit murky looking, the flavour is really nice, a nice light coffee. A good mouth feel and a really nice offering

Bottle. Pours ruby/amber, off-white head. Aroma is strong coffee, drowns out any other smells. Taste is also coffee-dominated, also some biscuity malts. Bitter, roasted. Took about a third of a glass to get into this one, but as a coffee-lover I enjoyed it.

Bottle: Poured a clear light amber color ale with a huge light brown foamy head with good retention and minimal lacing. Aroma of floral dry coffee notes is quite strong and dominated any other characteristics. Taste is also dominated by floral coffee notes with just the right amount of astringency. Body is light with good carbonation. Very well brewed though I am not enough of a coffee junky to appreciate this to the full extent.

Really impressed with this beer. You will love it if you love coffee. It has a taste that is completely dominated by coffee. Its not sweet at all, has some bitterness just like black dark coffee would. Head is tasty and brown, but goes away quickly. It leaves a bit of a lingering taste in your mouth just like coffee would.

500 ml bottle. Pours a clear reddish brown with a large off white head. Aroma is distinctly used coffee grounds. Taste is bitter coffee, no hops appear to contribute to the bitterness. Gritty bite, almost like putting coffee grounds on the tongue. Medium bitter finish. Overall this beer is dominated by the coffee, no complexity. I would not try again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy

Bottle from LCBO. Dark amber with a lasting foamy tan head. Odd kind of separation going on. Like whipped cream on water. Aroma is lightly roasted coffee, some caramel malt. Watery. Not overly flavourful. The coffee is there but otherwise, meh. Is that a vanilla or fruit extract? Moderately bitter finish. It was ok.

2013/03/01 - Pours a dark amber color with a thin off white head. Aroma is coffee and sweet, roasted malts. Taste is similar to nose with a very quick coffee burst and a dry aftertaste. Medium to full body with lots of carbonation. Very nice. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
