COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Two local companies, Beau’s All Natural Brewing and Bridgehead Coffee, have collaborated to create a special beer to help Ottawans keep warm during Winterlude this year. “WinterBrewed” is a strong amber ale brewed by Beau’s, infused with an organic coffee selected by Bridgehead. The beer selected for the blend holds its own as well: a strong ale with a rich amber colour, which features toasty, biscuity notes from the malt, and a herbal, slightly fruity contribution from the hops.

A lightly hazed reddish brown ale with a thick brown head. In aroma, definite coffee moka with caramel toffee, some nice burned notes, lightly fruity but overall, very well done. In mouth, a good brown ale with some nice roasted coffee, roasted notes lingering on, caramel, lingering coffee, quite good. Bomber from brewery, bottled Feb. 2011.

A coffee stout with some spices. Coffee aromas. Looks good dark and a lace sheet. Not so drinkable. Astringency builds up, acid from the roasting.Must really like coffee. stephen rich’s bottle.

2011-03-18. Ruby tinged body, modest beige head. 3+ Strong coffee aroma, fresh coffee beans, dry roast character. 7+ Flavour has a similarly powerful coffee character, dry coffee grounds, roasty cofee beans up front, finishes a bit milder than it starts, bitter roast, muted malt. 6+ Average bodied palate. Brief incongruous impression of peanut butter? Decent, but for me the coffee overshadows the base beer by a large margin so I find it tough to get past that. Bottle at Volo, Toronto

Bottle 600 ml #0689/1000
Aroma Rose , smoke, dry character with gentle richness of malts. Aroma finishing softer with character noted by marshmallows. 7+
Appearance deep ruby look. Slight haze. Bone white lighter top.
Flavor and Palate : medium light bodied. Coffee feel that is dominant. Dry roast till very finish. Rather one dimensional but “coffee guys” will like it.

March 18, 2011. Bottle # 0689 courtesy of dougshoemaker. Cloudy ruby with a smallish off-white and slightly greenish creamy/foamy head. Smells like a slightly burnt cup of stale coffee - roasty, dry, acidic. Tastes the same, but with some orange zest admixed, not much alcohol. Average body, strong carbonation, a burnt/bitter cocoa finish - mehh.

Bottle [660ml] shared with friends at Volo. Pours a deep amber with a small frothy beige head. Nice aroma if you like coffee (and I do) as it smells pretty much like a cold coffee. Flavour of cold coffee with some hops, a touch watery, and a decent bitter finish. Medium bodied. Just O.K.

UPDATED: APR 10, 2011 [3648-20110318] Bottle. Chocolate toasted rice puffs aroma. Hazy, dark amber body with a quick foamy off-white head. Stale coffee flavour has an underlying sweet grainy malt. Medium body. Drinkable, just a touch young. (6/3/6/3/13) 3.1+

Boutip (3971) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - MAR 5, 2013
Bottle: Poured a clear light amber color ale with a huge light brown foamy head with good retention and minimal lacing. Aroma of floral dry coffee notes is quite strong and dominated any other characteristics. Taste is also dominated by floral coffee notes with just the right amount of astringency. Body is light with good carbonation. Very well brewed though I am not enough of a coffee junky to appreciate this to the full extent.

Bottle, Embrun LCBO. Dark amber, small frothy head . Coffee the moment the bottle was cracked - huge, fresh, inviting . No fake coffee - this thing smells like a roster . Taste - coffee does not dominate but is quite strong . Amber body is fine but does not offer a ton in terms of flavour . Pretty decent beer really . My first rating in my new house in Russell, ON - thrilled to now be part of Canada's capital region. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

From the booth at le mondiale 2011. Amber pour with a light brown head. Aroma of cold coffee right off the bat. This is all coffee. Cold coffee, esspresso, fresh ground coffee beans, mani couldnt get my nose out of this, the best coffee aromaive ever had the pleasure to smell in a beer. The flavor was well....more coffee! Imagine that! There were some nice bready malts though too. The fnish of this beer reminded me of a strong german bock, flavoured with coffee. Awesome stuff!
