beerguy101 (3547), Newark, California, USA May 18, 2005 On tap at the brewpub. Orange gold color. Small sized white foamy head. Aroma is fruity and floral hops. A medium bodied Imperial IPA. Malts are fruity, caramel and sweet. Hops are grapefruity and piney. There is also a hint of oak and vanilla. A medium bitter ‘double’ IPA, that strengthens in bitterness as it goes along. It ends up as a fairly sweet. Yet fairly bitter IPA. The hp bitterness lingers in the back of your throat for a while, kind of nice. Good balance between the hops and malts. Smooth taste nice beer. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is bitter.
