8 Ball - Big, Bold & Ballsy
One of our earliest recipes, we wanted to push this big IPA all the way. So we packed it full of Rye and dry hopped it for days with American hops, using old pool balls to weigh the hop sack down in the beer. Hence the name.

Go ahead and sink a few, be rude not to really.

Bottled. Red-brown with a slight haze and a small, off-white head. A fresh, piney nose, with a touch of spice and citrus. Lots of peppery spice flavours, starting sweet and orangey followed by a dry, bitter, hoppy finish. Very good.

Muddy orange. Dense and persistent off-white head. Grapefruit juice and lime juice, with a slight touch of paint thinner. Too fizzy. No pondus to taste. Earthy bitterness.

Shared 330 ml bottle at local tasting. Cloudy orange colour, large head, slightly off-white. Sharp aroma of spruce, pine needle extract and solvent. Sharp hoppy flavour, mellowed by some rye "ripe berries" notes. Not in perfect balance.

Shared bottle during RBHD Mosterøl gathering. Dense light brown head covering a misty orange body. Polleny, piny, glandular, tropical fruits. Grows in the mouth. Earthy bitter hop juice. Medium to full bodied.

Can bought from local beer shop, pours a hazy dusty brown colour with tan head. Tastes good, intense hop bitterness but the malt sweetness is there with a savoury taste at the same time. A decent IPA which I rather enjoyed!

330ml can at home from McHughs. Pour blood orange red with a lasting white creamy head. Hay, Rye, grass, Citrus nose. Hops fade a bit. Sweet strawberry, butterscotch background with a dusty rye hop bitter finish. Light enough body with low carbonation. Lasting summer berry finish. Very drinkable. Another nice one from this brewery.

Pours a hazy orangish, deep honey color with a hint of red and a rich tan head. The smell is rich, caramel, fruit, spice, over ripe vegetables, citrus. The taste is spicy, sweet rich malt, fruit, citrus ending very dry and mildly bitter. The body is medium and silky with fine carbonation. Looks and feels a bit better than it tastes though it is certainly decent.

Can - Earthy pond hops and spicy rye. Cloudy copper with a head that disappears quickly. Hoppy bitterness up front, rye spice and a bitter finish. Not bad, but the rye is overwhelmed by the bitterness.

Aroma: floral hops, light resin. Appearance: hazy amber, big creamy white head. Taste: light to medium sweet. Palate: bitters coming up, hops, resin, getting dry in the quite long finish. Overall: great IPA, very nice aroma and palate. Bottle from Beavertown Brewery Tap Room, Tottenham Hale.
