8 Ball - Big, Bold & Ballsy
One of our earliest recipes, we wanted to push this big IPA all the way. So we packed it full of Rye and dry hopped it for days with American hops, using old pool balls to weigh the hop sack down in the beer. Hence the name.

Go ahead and sink a few, be rude not to really.

Can bought at Beavertown Brewery. Good spicy hop aroma. Spice and a bit of resin and a grainy note.

September 20, 2014 - on draught at Craft Beer Co (Islington). Cloudy orange - hell, this IS Cameron’s Rye PA but slightly less alcohol - nice rye bite and an amazing beer.

Sampled from a 33cl can decorated with a weird 60’s sci-fi theme. Hazy burnished copper colour with a creamy white head. Lots of lacing. Massive aroma of malts, fruits and grass. Slightly spicy taste, with biscuity malts, some lemon citrus and lots of grassy hops. Powerful bitter aftertaste. Huge mouth feel with amazing depth and a big refreshing hit of American hops, which create a satisfying bitterness. A very good and very individual IPA.

Roasted malts, cookie and some herbal taste. Lot of pine. Soft bitter end. Not so hoppy for an IPA but good one!

As smooth as a cue ball (did you see what I did there?)! Earthy, piney hops giving way to a clean bitter finish with just a hint if the spicy rye. Rated by BrewTom

Can @Cerveseria Jazz in Barcelona. Pours light reddish brown with two fingers of creamy white head. Smells of caramel, biscuits, some spices and some resinous note. Taste is roasted malts, spices, resinous hops. Dry bitter finish, medium carbonation, smooth mouthfeel. Very good.

Bottle, bought @Alesbymail. Pours murky brownish orange with a small, staying, creamy off-white head. Aroma has apricot, apples, grapefruit. Medium to low carbonation, fine dry and quite creamy mouthfeel. Flavour has good malty sweetness, lots of bitterness, apricot, grapefruit. Good, lingering if slightly harsh bitterness.

Flaske delt på dag 2, RBHD-samlingen hos Asle Bjørn: uklar gylden med højt skum. God humlearoma, men den smaker ikke så godt som den lukter. Rugen er bare delvis til stede i maltsmaken. Fizzy, udefinert smak, besk. Did not hit the spot for me.

Bottled. Red-brown with a slight haze and a small, off-white head. A fresh, piney nose, with a touch of spice and citrus. Lots of peppery spice flavours, starting sweet and orangey followed by a dry, bitter, hoppy finish. Very good.
