8 Ball - Big, Bold & Ballsy
One of our earliest recipes, we wanted to push this big IPA all the way. So we packed it full of Rye and dry hopped it for days with American hops, using old pool balls to weigh the hop sack down in the beer. Hence the name.

Go ahead and sink a few, be rude not to really.

Cask by handpump at State Bar, Glasgow (the pumpclip has 4.7% strength) - clear amber ale, bubbly white head, cereal malt, good temperature, fruity with an initial malty aftertaste, well balanced, medium body, smooth, moderate carbonation, easy to drink

Bottle at Sourced. Dark amber body with medium head. Faint and malty nose. Taste is malts, spices, nuts, but also hops in the early finish. Prickly texture, poppy really. Lots of rye in the bitter finish. Enjoyable.

Lovely! Very cloudy, almost dirty looking, modest carbonation. A big whack of peach to start with on the nose and not much more at first. Not too bitter, slightly spicy, perfectly balanced, with a delicious aroma and taste of peach melba with a whiff of vodka. Don’t drink it too cold.

33cl bottle. The beer has ugly green/brown and hazy aspect. Medium head. Nose : yeast, tart, melon, pomelo, orange. Sip : Tart and cookies. Brownie. Well balanced citrus and fruity aromas. It gets bitter fruity with something like a peanut flavor. Truly nice. Well done.

33 cl bottle, Sheffield, UK via St. Pancras station. Watery iced tea appearance, thick frothy head. Bright floral resin aroma, faint metallic quality. Nice body, not overly heavy, some sweetness that quickly overtaken by resinous hops, with the rye really coming through at the end.

Bottle. Amber, cloudy, average and mostly lasting head. Moderate, malty and lightly sweetish aroma, faint caramel and some tropical fruitiness, piney and grapefruit hoppyness. Body is medium, malty and lightly sweetish flavor, faint caramel light tropical fruitiness, piney and grapefruit hoppyness. Finish is average, malty and lightly sweetish, faint caramel and light fruitiness, lots of piney and grapefruit hoppyness. Really nice well hopped IPA - although finish almost totally lacks the fruitiness. Not too sweet.

Bottle from Stirchley Wines, Brum. Hazy amber pour with a small off white head. Fragrant, fruity, hoppy nose. Very well poised flavour that delivered plenty of hop bitterness alongside some notes of rye and spice. Decent output from these fellas so far. Dug it.

Pours dark amber with fluffy cream head and pithy citrus (lemons/limes) nose. Big body, medium carb, fruit juice, pithy bitterness, sweet rye. Nice

It’s Beavertown, it’s iconic, it’s big, bold and ballsy. It begins with B so that’s where I’ll be. Yes indeed, today was brought to you by the letter B.

On tap at Brewdog Camden. It pours a slightly hazy orange colour with a large white head. Aroma is biscuity malts, resiny hops and rye. Taste is similar with maltiness balanced by piney hops and some slight acidic note. Nothing phenomenal.

Fairly dark, cloudy due to yeast in the bottle. Very fresh hop aroma, pine needle note. Well balanced. Very dry finish.Really did think it was a US craft until I read the bottle. On par with Londons other amazing craft brewery The Kernel.
