8 Ball - Big, Bold & Ballsy
One of our earliest recipes, we wanted to push this big IPA all the way. So we packed it full of Rye and dry hopped it for days with American hops, using old pool balls to weigh the hop sack down in the beer. Hence the name.

Go ahead and sink a few, be rude not to really.

From tap, half-pint, drunk in a cosy atmosphere at the splendid Craft Beer Co, Islington. Dark apricot coloured body. Spotty lacing to the glassware. Prominent aroma of citrus shells. Succulent taste character offering a mix of fresh and dried fruits added by lighter notes of spices. Lingering bitter ending. Well balanced. Brit IPA at its best (London, 26.11.2012).

Burk på Lilys Burger, Södermalm. Brungul dimmig vätska med svagt skum. Doftar malt och grövre humle. Bra råg och maltbas med en trevlig humlepunch. Kraftfull i eftersmaken. Fint som snus! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Caoba y espuma marfil compacta. Aromas intensos de mandarina, pomelo, menta fresca y fondo maltoso suave. Cuerpo medio, con sabor cítrico y fresco y un final de amargor medio seco, punzante y herbáceo.

I’m a bit of a Beavertown fanboy but I love this beer. Rye hit is massive, earthy, dry and soily, before the bitter hops kick in. Nice full mouthfeel.

Can. Cloudy darker orange body. Medium to low head. Aroma has juicy hops with mostly grapefruit peel and pulp. Taste has sweet citric/fruity hoppiness followed by a mellow rye spiciness. Finish turns slightly soapy. Could probably be better when it’s fresher.

Can at the brewery, dank orange nose, palate is rich and spicy, hoppy yet balanced, so more smooth than bitter. Delicious.

From a bottle at the Bevog 2nd anniversary. Pours a hazy amber orange color, topped with a decent frothy off-white head. Mild fruity aroma, some grainy notes in the back. Taste is mildly sweet with some biscuity notes. Mild bitterness in the finish. A nice one.

Another can fron Hawkshead. Hazy pale amber with a fluffy head that dies down after a few mins. Lovely spicy citrus nose, mid weight, spice again on the palate, with bitter citrus hops on the finish......nice!

Can. Copper color, creamy head. Nice aroma of pine, cream and rye. Creamy bitter taste of caramel, pine, grass, rye and butter. Very nice.
