That’s an excellent example of a black ipa. Hoppy and fresh aromas, nice bitter taste, with some roasted hints. Very very nice.

330mL can. Pours black with a big off white head and an incredible toffee/tropical fruit/floral aroma. A perfect balance of light dark malt and heavy hops on the flavour, lots of that tropical fruit comes through with a nice toffee/treacle like backing. Amazing beer.

Pours black with large tan head. Lasting thick lacing. Aroma is grapefruit, bitter dark chocolate, roast. Beautiful blend of IPA and roasted malts. A little mango in the flavor, not present in aroma, more grapefruit. Replaced slowly by roasty malts. Dark chocolate. A little oily in palate and a wonderfully roasty citrus finish that gradually builds. Nothing unoriginal but blended immaculately.

18/10/14 330ml can from The Bottle Shop Bermondsey, pours a deep silky black, large off-white head. Aroma, hops, fresh floral, almost ’dandelion & burdock’. Taste, nice hoppy flavour, bitter finish and a soft carbonation. Rather nice stuff, so had the second can!

From 345 ml can. Pours a deep black with a thin cola-brown highlight at the edge and a thick cappuccino like head. Aromas of pine needles, black coffee, dark chocolate, raisins and prunes. Taste is latte coffee at first before a very firm pine resin bitterness washes through. Dark chocolate and rich coffee overlaid with some lighter fruit flavours toward the back end. Just a touch of smoke at the very end. Smooth, rounded mouthfeel. Coffee and dark fruit in the lingering aftertaste. Great stuff.

Bottle, bought @Alesbymail. Pours dark brown to black with a small, staying, creamy beige head. Aroma has soft roasted malts, a bit of licorice, citrus, pineapple, apricot, peach. Low carbonation, fine dry and quite creamy mouthfeel. Flavour has luscious chocolate, softly roasted. Quite elegant hoppy freshness, citrus, peach. Firm, but still somewhat soft bitterness.

Black color with beige head. Aroma of citra, hops, some malt. More IPA than stout, so very refreshing. Very bitter aftertaste which lasts very long. Good stuff.

Black with creamy head. Noble hop aroma, quite resinous and earthy. Flavour is also hop dominated although some dark malty notes sneak through in the finish.
